I hired Donnie's "company" in September(he has no real employees by the way) for a $10k remodel job on my $400k home. He caused more damage than he did good, then walked off the job and left me stranded. My complaint will be the 3rd with the BBB in the last year. Additionally, I am having to sue him due to over $7k in payments made to him before he walked off the job. He left my house with 2 inches of sheetrock dust on the floors, toilets out on the patio, paint all over my cherry cabinets, and damage to walls, doors, and floors. He told me he used "nothing but the best in materials," then I caught him in a bold face lie using contractor grade paint. He said he was "more picky than I ever thought about being," yet I had to repeatedly point out obvious quality control issues. Donnie is personable, and talks a good game, but has neither the capability, the resources, or the ethical mechanisms to do a job of any quality.

On August 19th I contracted with Bradley Builders to do painting and repairs to the interior and to replace flooring, carpet and padding. He said he would start the week of Labor Day and I gave him a check for $1300 as down payment. Since then I have not heard from him even after repeated attempts to call and email. He still has my money and has not delivered on any services and I have since filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Georgia. I had previously hired a plumber using service magic and was completely satisfied but now have serious thoughts about doing so again.

Major Renovation - Multiple Rooms
Donnie Bradley owes our company approximately $30,000. We tried to help him meet his payroll and allowed Bradley Builders to get into us by the amount mentioned above. Bradley builders was working on 2 of our properties of which he was approximately 40% into each one when he walked from the jobs. We have litigation pending against Donnie Bradley of Bradley Builders. I highly recommend everyone stay away from this guy.

Interior Paint Job was good. Failed to keep scheduled appointments to install large foyer window. Did not call to explain delays. Contracted to install window in early December 2002 , did not have it completed by the end of March 2003. I am now in the process of finding somene else to install the window.

This project has taken 6 weeks, instead of 4 days per Mr. Bradley original assement. Mr. Bradley needs to improve his project management skills, along with his communication skills. Mr. Bradley should create an actual job cost analysis once he has excepted the job, so the client will have an exact cost of the project. He should inform/communication to the customer if the estimated hours/cost has changed, so the customer will be aware of added cost. When Mr. Bradley indicates estimate hours from 5-6 hours the customer should be inform prior to him spending 14 hours on the task where he original indicated and estimate of 5-6 hrs. I am understanding that to be less than 5, but not greater than 6. I feel that he may have under estimated the job and tried to recover cost in the estimated job cost. It is not the customer's concern if he had to redo work that was not properly done by his staff, and not making sure he understands/questions the customers wants. Knowledge is key, if Mr. Bradley is aware of all building/remodeling guidelines somethings should be common sense to question. I feel that I was very supportive in helping Mr. Bradley. I had to cancel two carpet installation due to the delays, along with paying a 3rd up front and another payment prior to the job being finished and the last payment before the final touches were done. This has been a learning experience for future projects.

The final job was well done. Bradley Builders was courteous. However, the planning was poor. They did not realize that a door would need to be ordered, therefore adding over a week of wait time to finish the job. Then their scheduled date to complete they did not show and only after I called did they explain the door was still not in. Additionally, when they painted they did not cover all furniture and everything got extremely dusty. Some paint got on the hardwood floor, etc. Prof. painters would have kept things covered better.
