I entered into an agreement with Greg Brant in October 2022. A very big mistake. Greg was obtuse, argumentative, and uncommunicative. Delay after delay all the while blaming me and making excuse after excuse if he bothered to respond to me at all. I signed his contract requiring him to provide a monthly statement, which I never received. Not one. Amateurish drawings provided by Greg could have been created using Visio in an afternoon that he charged me thousands of dollars. 4 months of delays after the final payment and finally received the drawings promised that the city ultimately rejected. I am convinced that Greg Brant never intended to perform professional work on my project. My advice is to avoid Brant Design like you would the plague.

Greg is a pleasure to work with. He has been able to provide me with what I need for my home remodel projects- the remodel plans he drew up for our backyard cottage got through permitting quickly and with no revisions. Knowing that sometimes it can be difficult to find professionals willing to work with a homeowner who is hands-on and on a budget, I really appreciate that Greg respects my ideas and works with me to keep costs down. He is also just a nice guy, and unlike some architects he is humble and easy to talk to! I am looking forward to working together more!

"This was an unusual project. Bob Martell was not the project owner, but a neighbor wanting to help. They had previously retained a designer who prepared plans for the City of Tacoma. When submitted, Tacoma rejected the work, stating they would require an Architect's stamp to accept the plans. As often in these cases, the concern is that they paid the other firm a lot of money and lost a lot of time so can I make that up. Against better judgment, we accepted the project and completed the work on time and under our stated budget. The plans were accepted by Tacoma and only minor corrections sent back. We invoiced for the fee to finish the corrections. We never heard back. After six weeks we assumed they made other arrangements. When they reached out again it was a in panic and needing to finish right away. We were not able to help at that time. We released our work to them for others to complete the corrections and withdrew our offer of service. We wish them the best going forward."

Greg is prickly, uncommunicative, and misses his own deadlines. Ultimately he fired us after we had the nerve to ask him for a new timeline when he had missed his promised delivery date by a week. Pretty snippy about it too. I liked the guy at first and he doesn't seem like an actual scam artist. But I really wouldn't recommend working with him either.

"Curtis and Cindy were very demanding to work with, having unrealistic expectations. They had three very small home modifications. They could not decide what they wanted, to get a permit or not, in which order to do the projects.etc. Their indecision, starting, stopping, changing scope etc. made scheduling impossible. They cancelled an appointment when their contractor convinced them not to apply for the required permit.. We would receive numerous requests for information which became disruptive. Curtis issued an email saying he wanted their the finished drawings or a refund. We issued a full refund as requested, in spite of considerable work having been completed in our office... All of this took place over 10 business days over the Thanksgiving Holiday We are sorry we could not accomodate Curtis and Cindy but wish them the best."

He completed the plans, which needed to be very complicated, and I was able to get my permits in record time.
