To make a long story short, I contracted with Brighter Finish Construction in December 2011 to replace my porch and raise my roof line. The work did not get started until sometime in January and the workers left on Jan. 23. The concrete porch was poured poorly and I was left with large chunks of concrete spilling out into my landscaping and a large area where the concrete didn't set properly. I have texted, emailed and spoken to Bob Sippos numerous times since Feb. 9 re: this problem and have been told every time that someone will be out to fix it. Today is June 5 and the project is still unfinished. NOT a Brighter Finish.

I hired Brighter Finish Construction to build an addition to my home they started but never finished well beyond the contract completion date. This was a large project and the only thing done was footer dug and poured. The contractor told me many times they were going to do this and that but no one ever showed up. I would not trust them to do your project and I am currently going through the BBB to try to get my money back since he does not respond to me about giving my money back.

Brick, Stone or Block Wall - Repair
Requested cash when finished (?). Insisted on receiving payment before project was completed. Stated company would provide certain items but never did and I was forced to pay for them. Workers did a good quality job.

At the start of day 36 without a usable kitchen for a project that Bob Sippos said would take a week and a half, I a stunned with another no show, no call day. On Nov 15 (project day 20), Frank Yeager, Mike & Mark told me that their guy Tim installed the subfloor wrong and that they would fix it so that the floor lays flat. Frank and Mark also told me that Mike's mudding and skim coat were unfinished and that the dishwasher was not reinstalled well. These 3 things are still unfixed after many days of work. I delayed countertop install by Lowes in case the Brighter Finish team needed to move the cabinets again. Unhappy. Want this project done

"We were contracted to rebuild the floor because several joists were rotted. The cabinets, etc were supposed to be removed before we started. We wound up removing all the kitchen contents as well as the floor. There was also additional work pouring concrete (wood was directly on the ground), blowing insulation in walls and ceiling, installing cabinets and counter that was not included in the original contract. The original crew did install the underlayment incorrectly but that was repaired. I was told the skimcoat was fine as it lent a rustic appearance to the kitchen. The cabinet installation was never paid for nor has the floor."

Initially they were very nice and eager. A job they said should take aproximately four days to complete ended up taking three weeks. My job could have been completed much sooner, but no one showed up for an entire week, and not due to unfavorable weather. Several emails and text messages were sent to the project leader requesting touch up or issues with the job, with no response. I eventually gave up and secured the final board myself. I will also need to purchase and restain the older section of the deck myself, since the wood is still visable.

"It was indeed a week from the signing of the contract to commencement of the work. I believe that's a quick turnaround. Her deck had structural problems but she chose not to repair them. The project manager is no longer with the company, but she never contacted me regarding her issues even though we'd spoken by phone shortly before."

The job inside was done as planned. The outside work is taking a little longer due to the weather. I would suggest them to anyone who is looking to have the work done that we had done.
