Reviews
Write a ReviewI had the unfortunate experience of working with Brighton Construction on my home construction project and delayed writing this review because he still has to complete the one year walk through items however, its been a year and 5 months and my punch list items are still dragging along. With that being said, I cannot stress enough how nightmarish this process has been. Tom Bridgeman and Brighton Construction misses deadlines, avoids calls, and over all just does not care. There are MANY more builder options. I noticed the past 5 star reviews however that was not my or several others experience with this company. Trust me when I say DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This was the most stressful process, and the stress was definitely unnecessary.
We canâ t say enough good things about Brighton Construction! If you are like us, you check reviews before you select contractors to help you with your project. We were no different! Not familiar with Grand Strand contractors we looked to the typical customer review sources. Facing a major refacing of a beachfront property, we selected a few contractors with reviews that seemed fairâ ¦on the surface. In some cases, we were sadly mistaken. You WILL NOT be misled by this review. We WERE NOT mistaken about Tom Bridgeman and Brighton Construction. Tom had been working with us for a few months in the later part of 2020 to design a new-home to build, waiting for the right lot to become available. When timing did not work and we opted for a resale instead, Tom did not turn his back on us. To the contrary he kept in touch despite a major personal challenge within his family life and offered assistance if we ever needed any. I had no idea how valuable that offer would become. Literally 1 week before installation of a MAJOR portion of the house (kitchen cabinets, countertop, backsplash, electrical, plumbing) and the prior kitchen completely removed and ready for the new one, the contractor with â great reviewsâ CANCELLED OUR CONTRACT, then levied cancellation fees on US! Unwilling to even discuss the impact of a regulatory directive outside our control for days prior to cancelling us, they left us in the lurch without a kitchenâ ¦literally! A single call to Tom started the recovery process! He took over where the other contractors left us hanging, and addition to the work he was already doing for us made connections with a countertop supplier, backsplash installer and orchestrated the installation of cabinetry all while coordinating permits with regulatory agencies. He also was successful in getting other contractors to respond to finish their work when they were becoming challenging to reach. What does Tom NOT DO: cancel contracts- EVER; neglect to show up for an appointment â EVER; neglect to call if running late â EVER; make you chase him to see if he would be finishing up a task â EVER; bait and switch ANYTHING; EVER leave you wondering if he is good for HIS word when others were not. What DOES Tom DO: Show up on time and as promised; call to communicate if he will be delayed; communicate clearly and accurately on what needs to be done and how to make it happen; negotiate fair and honest pricing that still allows all to remain in business profitably; offer suggestions to prevent issues that would delay permit approvals; finish the work he starts ON SCHEDULE; make anything he touches go smoothly! We have a resale this time, but the next time Tom will be our first and ONLY call to EVER have ANYTHING done ever again. Repairs on this house â Brighton Construction! Upgrades next season â Brighton Construction ! Build the next house from the ground up â Brighton Construction! Thanks for being there, Tom !
Brighton Construction built our home two years ago and we are still amazed and excited every time we walk in the door!! From the beginning to the final step Tom, Larry, and Bobby worked with us fairly and professionally. If there were any difficulties they were managed right away with no problems. We can t say enough to our satisfaction. We recommend them every chance we get!! Thank you again!! Larry and Josie
After interviewing several builders we decided to go with Brighton and Tom Bridgeman. My wife loves the house and we have been in it for seven years now. A couple of things popped up during and post construction which would normally seem irritating but was corrected. I appreciated the communication and personal attention we received and have since used Brighton Construction for a couple of smaller projects and to upgrade our rental property.
Built our custom home and was very pleased with workmanship and also quality. Thank you Tom, Bobby and Larry for giving us a quality built beautiful home. Anyone looking to build a new home in this area would be foolish not to use these men. Thank you again
DONT WANT TO LEAVE ANY COMMENTES WAS PLEASED WITH THE JOB THANK YOU.
