Brown Foundation Repair
About us
We wrote the book on foundation repair. Our founder, Robert Wade Brown, was not only a college level instructor, but wrote 3 books that are considered the "meat and potatoes" of how foundation repairs should be done. Choosing a foundation repair company can be very difficult. Ask five companies for an opinion, and you're likely to get five different answers. At Brown Foundation Repair & Consulting, Inc., we have nearly half a century's experience in foundation repair. During that time we've seen many different solutions come and go. At Brown Foundation, the solution we recommend for your foundation problem will involve pouring either spread footings or steel reinforced concrete piers to a depth below the active soil to bring the slab or pier and beam foundation up to its original specifications. Slab foundations require filling voids with a cement-based grout mixture (mud jacking). Our solution to your foundation problems will be custom designed for your home by our structural representatives. At Brown Foundation, we've seen many methods or variations of methods throughout the years. Many of these have not stood the test of time. Surface clay soils in North Texas are generally unstable to a depth of approximately 3.0 feet. This is called active soil depth. Below this, the soil is generally stable. Any foundation repair solution must function below this active soil. A foundation repair company can choose to use any number of foundation repair solutions in order to correct your foundation problems. However, at Brown Foundation, there are a few methods that we definitely do not recommend. Knowing about these methods and understanding why we will not use them is key in helping you make the best decision for your foundation repair. We look forward to serving you today, providing you with the best methods available, and giving you the best value for your money.
