The job was to install a monolithic garage foundation and 5" floor with a 5" 40x24' driveway. Luckily he didn't pour the same day he finished the forms because I checked their work when I got home using my transit. They had it set up for about a 3" thickness with some spots as thin as 2.5". I told him of my findings and he explained that his guys are used to pouring 4" pads. Still didn't make sense because it wasn't thick enough to be a 4" pad, but I let him correct it. Next day I came home to check their work and they gave me a perfect 4" pad, and were still planning on charging me for the 5" thickness. I confronted him about this again and he said it was his mistake and he would correct it. The concrete was finally poured, and as they were screeding I was tapping the forms to get the concrete to settle. One of the guys asked me not to do that because they would just cold patch it after they took the forms off. NOT OK. Upon job completion I found concrete splashed up on my siding and some sort of chemical stain on my concrete that shows up white when it rains. He asked me to work with him on the price since he spent an extra 2 days on the job because of regrading and leveling the aggregate for the correct thickness. I refused since it was their job to get it correct the first time and not make me do QC on their work. He said he needed payment the next day and I told him I could either leave it for him at the house, pay over the phone, or mail the check. He requested that I meet his foreman on another job site.

Doug was easily accessible and kept me updated.

Doug has done two projects for me in the past year or so. I've been trying to contact him recently and they have not returned my calls. Don't know if they are no longer accepting jobs or what is wrong. I have recommend them to a friend for new work and they have not contacted them either. I courtesy phone called would be nice.

Doug Brown was referred to me after my previous contractor bailed on me. I had a long concrete driveway needing replacement, needing a drain near my garage at the end of the driveway (which we wanted to tie into my City's sewer), and an enlargement of my back patio as well. Doug came in with the absolute lowest bid (after receiving many in the last year). In fact, it was lower than our initial bid of a combination asphalt and concrete we originally planned. After some drain install issues with a third party contractor, I switched and had Doug do that as well. He was very informative and communicative in the whole process - texting me daily to tell me what they were doing that day and basically holding my hand through it. This was a lot of money for us and Doug handled the whole project with extreme care. So I got a beautiful entirely concrete driveway for the same price as others previously wanted to charge me that was half asphalt. We are very pleased with the outcome. Driveway and patio are beautiful.

Mr D Brown kept in touch while other companies gave me estamits and he was more concern that I was happy with what work he would do. His crew did a beautiful job and needless to say I was happy with the results.
