This lady needs help. She can not physically do the job. We had to have our contractors for another job, help her. She tried to say the door was fixed when it was not. Finally we made her stay until the door was working correctly. She needs a better attitude and a helper. I feel sorry for her as she is just trying to make a living.

Doors - Repair
I hate leaving negative feedback, but sometimes it is truly necessary. We had a doorframe that needed repairs on either side of the door where our dogs had chewed the wood as well as weather stripping that needed replacing. We looked on home advisor who sent off for the quotes and Vicky Caldwell called us back shortly. We received a quote for $100 for the work and we would have to purchase any materials needed to fix the doorframe. She came to our house around 10:00 a.m. and initially she just took measurements, but then advised that a little more work would need to be done in order to fix it correctly- things like the threshold, door sweep, some wood pieces, some caulking, etc. We then drove to Home Depot so that I could buy the materials, leaving around 10:55 and returning around 12:22 according to my mileage app. The total for materials came to about $107. She said it would take about 2 hours to complete the repairs. By the time 4:00 rolled around, she still could not get the threshold piece into place, a piece I had just purchased, and had broken the wooden support portion of it in half attempting to force it into place with a hammer and crowbar, (Im assuming she cut the piece a bit too big to maneuver into place easily between the door frames). When it became clear that 1) the doorframe pieces, (and other parts at this point), were not going to be fixed in an acceptable and timely manner, 2)she actually was causing damage to the area, (verified by the person we had to call in to fix it). AND 3) that 6.5 hours was yielding so little in the way of results, I just told her we were going to have to call it a day and asked what we owed her. I was expecting about $100, maybe $150. She wanted $220 for her time. If you subtract the time she took for a bathroom break, a lunch break, a smoke break, and the Home Depot trip, she worked actually closer to maybe 4 hours. She stripped the area down to the concrete, which may have been the only somewhat positive of the situation. We got Kurt Freeman, (excellent service by the way), to come in and repair what she had done and not only did she do things incorrectly and cause damage, but she had me purchase some materials that were not even appropriate for the job. We paid Kurt an additional $200 for repairs and will have him come back to do additional repairs to finish the job entirely . So $500 spent and a whole lot of headache to get a simple job done correctly. CHECK THE REVIEWS AND REFERENCES before hiring someone. I really want to spare someone else the trouble we went through.
