I've been in the trades for over 40 years. I'm a licensed General, Electrical and Plumbing Contractor. I specialize in home remodeling and repair. I primarily do small remodeling and repair jobs and a great deal of electrical and plumbing service work. I usually work alone these days and have a fully equipped service van which enables me to have the majority of materials I would need to do most repairs on the spot.

"I was personally hospitalized at the time and wasn't able to work. I had Home Advisor forward my job notifications to an individual who was handling these small jobs for me. He apparently provided unsatisfactory service and I was not aware of it. He no longer works for me. As you can see from past reviews, this low level of service was an aberration. I personally strive for excellence."

They responded to my emergency on a weekend and I was impressed with their approach to solving my blocked line by starting with a simple solution before removing toilets and snaking the line. I can t say enough for this company.

Prompt, professional, fast, very knowledgeable. Great communication skills! After a frustrating few days of trying to get a plumbing company to come over to fix a leak under my bathtub, I received an outragiously high estimate for the cost of the repairs. Contacted Home Advisors late at night. Michael from Burkhardt Construction contacted me first thing on Saturday morning and offered to go right over to assess the situation. He sent me a video of the leak and suggested a repair. He coordinated a time with my tenants, did the repair and checked on it within 24 hours. All this at a fraction of the cost I was quoted by another plumbing company. Such a positive experience! I could not be more impressed and happy with the outcome!!

Hiring Sam is like getting multiple Contractors for the price of one. He replaced a kitchen faucet, bathroom sink and faucet, and installed a bathroom light and repaired a couple other light fixtures all in one visit ! He is also VERY reasonable about his prices for labor, so when you add that to the convenience of only needing to hire one person to handle so many different types of home issues, it is great ! Give Sam a call, you will be glad you did !!

Sam promises to to the work, but it is difficult to get him out to do the work. He had to order parts, and received them but is too busy to show up to install the parts.

"His comments are inaccurate. I went to his house (a way out in the country) to see his faucet because he didn't know the manufacturer. It was an older faucet.I ordered the parts. They were back ordered because they were out of stock.It took 3 weeks for the parts to arrive. They were sent to his house. When the parts were in, he called and I went back to his house to find that not all the parts had arrived.I reordered the parts. When they arrived I could not get aback there immediately, but went as soon as I could. In total I made three trips out there.I did not charge him for all the trips I made.I gave him good service at a reasonable price"

Water Heater Repair or Service
Sam called tosee if he could be of help almost before I pressed "send" to Home Advisor. He called a couple of times while I was out shopping for a water heater and showed up on time for our appointment the next morning. He had some comlications due to the nature of the home but was able to finish the project by evening and stayed until it was complete.

Sam is great. He kept with it figuring out what the previous homeowner had done to the house I just bought and getting it all working properly again. He's reliable and was flexible working around my schedule. Some of the stuff I asked him to take a look at turned out to be much more involved than I thought but he still got it working at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend and since he does Construction I will also be asking thim to bid on doing the kitchen when I have the cash.

Water Heater Repair or Service
He ended up having to recommend us to another plumber because it was difficult to get the part. But he was very on it and kept us well informed of when he went to look at our property and what he thought, etc. Will use in the future.

We hired Sam to install some electrical outlets, light fixtures and a bathroom exhaust fan. When we found out that he had experience as a general contractor, we also had him earthquake-proof and replace pipes on a water heater, as well as change out the faucets on two bathrooms. He showed up on time each day and was very pleasant to work with. He also helped us with some extra little jobs that came up as the project progressed. I would recommend Sam and would definitely use him again.
