CALbath Renovations

We had 4 companies come to our house to give us quotes for our master bath and downstairs powder room. Steve Lass showed up on time and knew his stuff! I would say, this is what I want, and he would say, **we can do that, but take a look at this, I think you will really like it**. Darned if he wasnâ t right 99% of the time! I learned quickly to listen to him. I really appreciated that he listened and interpreted what I wanted. After the initial home visit, Steve invited us to the showroom, where we met him the following week. It was so much fun (for me) to see the little bathrooms they had put together. We went through the options we had discussed and I was so excited! The reason I said earlier Steve was only right 99% of the time was because of the **Barn style twin bypass shower slider door with exposed rails and rollers** that I didnâ t know I NEEDED till I saw it in the showroom!! So, I guess he gets 100% after all. Speaking of 100%... make sure Izzy is the one they schedule to do your work. Izzy knows his stuff. He is polite, thoughtful, respectful, and darned good at his job. If I had questions or concerns he addressed them immediately and took care of everything. I thought Iâ d be stressed out with people in the house, or from having to move my stuff, but Izzy made that a nonissue for me. I knew at the end there would be a Punch List of items that needed to be tweaked or fixed, happily, it was two minor things, also there was a door casing that the home builder butchered originally, Izzy said he could fix it. Steve got us a price and we are getting that fixed too!! Hopefully from this review, you can tell I am really happy with CalBath and pleased with the work they did and the service they provided.

We were very happy with the service and the finished project. We had read other reviews. One or two were not favorable, but we did not have the experience that was mentioned in those reviews. We would recommend them.

Personable service staff and excellent communication with fast response time

Excellent work...great results..tub and tile surround look new for a very reasonable price...work was done in a timely manner, excellent clean up...honest guy who saved me $100 by not doing additional work that he felt was not needed.Removed and replaced fixtures where other companies would not include as part of the job.

When the job was finished and the paper was removed, the paint came off from the tape!! Now we have to hire a painter to remedy the job. Job cost over $1000.00 and we have had nothing but aggravation!! DE

The resurfacing was done well. However the preparation leaves a lot to be desired. As a result of the job I had to repaint the entire bathroom because the tape they used to mask the area removed the paint from the wall. Not just around the tub and shower, but on the opposite wall as well. Also the masking around the shower did not reach the ceiling so the spray discolored the wall between the masking and the ceiling. If you hire this company, plan on the expense of repainting your room. The customer service is lacking also. I have spoken to them a couple of times and they were going to have a production crew contact me about the (touch up of the paint). It has been a week and I have not heard from them.

Good job, fair price. Could use more feedback on the fact that it's a two day job and when they are coming back.

HAD A SHOWER SURROND REGLAZED IN ORDER TO SELL OUR HOME. WE HAD A VERY LITTLE TIME TO GET IT DONE AND CAL BATH DID IT! ALL THE WORK WAS DONE WHEN THEY SAID IT WOULD AND TURNED OUT BEAUTIFUL. OUR HOUSE SOLD THE DAY IT WAS PUT UP FOR SALE.

Very professional quality of the work was excellent.

Scott, the Sales Rep explained everything and even changed my mind about a straight re-line of tub. Decided to get a tub replacement which gave me a larger tub without extra cost. Roger, the guy who measures and orders parts, came out, took all the measurements and discussed hardware options with us. Decided to add grab bars at time of installation. Future installation could cause a warranty problem. Don't need them now, but for the future or sale of house. Roger did recommend tearing out our existing tile rather than acrylic over them. No extra cost. This ended up being the hard part of the job. The tear out took a couple of days and there was some outside wall damage. HOWEVER our installer Dwayne took care of everything. Because of the tear out and the inevitable plumbing problems, the job took 4 full days. Dwayne, you're the best. Thanks for your high standards and willingness to please us. Also, whenever I called the office with a question, they answered me right away. Very responsive company. Competitively priced. Would hire them again. Oh, and by the way, LOVE my new tub/shower.

I would give Cal Bath in Newport Beach one star because they did not pull a Gypsy contractor move a steal by deposit. But they deserve a NO STAR rating. I have been a homeowner for over twenty five years. Over this time I have used lots of contractors, some good, others not so much. Cal Bath is hands down the worst contractor I have ever used.

They are very competent, organized and a fair value company.
