"We're truly sorry you feel you had a bad experience with C.L.S. Construction! We understand that everyone expects "perfection". Unfortunately, in the world of remodeling "perfection" isn't always an option, especially when it comes to tile. When subpar wall tile is used, you always run the risk of pinhole sized air bubbles that are baked into the finish and tiles that are not uniform in size. Unfortunately, when black grout is applied, these imperfections become noticeable or even more visible than previously. The same can be said about purchasing distressed porcelain floor tile. Porcelain tile is an excellent choice for bathrooms as it's super durable and is impervious to stains but distressed means it has stains and cracks imprinted on it, so it looks old...not perfectly consistent in color. We did everything we could to remedy the issues of how the tile looked when grouted that you were unhappy with including agreeing to remove and replace wall tiles MULTIPLE times. In order to not continue to compromise the tile backer and to attempt to make you happy, the only solution was to remove all the tiles and backer board and start all over, which I agreed to do at no extra charge. After installation, we also agreed to remove the vanity and toilet and all the floor tile and then reinstall it all. I was given a newly purchased different wall and floor tile to install, which you were much happier with. I informed you, at the time, that by removing the vanity there would be a chance that the backsplash would break, which is what happened. I had no control over how long it took for the manufacturer to send you a new one and then the correct one. Unfortunately, during the demolition of the shower the rubber pan liner in the shower floor accidentally got punctured. We went back again and fixed it all. Yes, we also snagged the carpet when installing a different threshold, you liked better after the first one was already installed. The snag caused a run in the carpet. I agreed to cover the cost of the new carpet for the hallway as you were replacing carpet in the bedrooms also. The cost was deducted from the final balance, but it would have been courteous to discuss the cost prior to deducting it and paying the final bill as the amount deducted was unreasonably high. Due to all the work being redone and waiting on replacement materials, this job obviously took much longer than it should have. I understand it's hard to wait on a contractor when you're in the middle of a job, but once other jobs were started, I had to be considerate to those clients as well. Again, sorry for the bad experience. I have been in business for 30 years and I have never had a client unhappy with my work. This shows on my reviews. C.L.S. prides itself on quality professional work and the relationships we create with our clients."
