Alan said he wants happy customers, but there was much confusion about when he was coming to do the job and when it would be completed. We were on a timeline of about three weeks, but he could not get back to complete the job, so we finished it ourselves, since our electrician was coming to finish work after the drywall job. He's a nice, sincere person, but timely work was important to us & it did not happen. The work was okay, just not completed.

"This client was very communicable and courteous. It was a 3 hour job and we are very busy. The homeowner was not available when I sent my employee to the home on two occasions. When the home owner was finally available, she stated the work was already completed. We do strive to satisfy every customer. Although this was a small job I treat them just like a large one. I apologized to the client."

He told me what I need, and saved me a lot of money on a new front door I really didn't need. All I needed was a door brush on the bottom of the door. I was able to do it myself. Thanks again Allen!

I was extremely disappointed. While his work may or may not be good (this is a rental unit and I assume the repairs went well -- I haven't heard otherwise, nor have I been to the site recently), I asked this individual for a quote, and after sometime -- I did indicaitei I wasn't in a terrible hurry but rather just for the tenants to work something out with him -- that he give me a quote. After not hearing from him awhile, I contacted him only to find dout they had already "been in to the job" purchased "rental-grade" replacement, etc. but assured it wouldn't cost much although later get a $500+ bill. I never heard of a professional not giving an estimate for work that needed to be done (as an absent landlord, I wasn't even sure of the work that needed to be done) and he never was given any authority to complete the job. I find that entirely unprofessional, would never recommend anyone that would do such a thing whether there work was great or not

"We arrived 12-30-06 on a Saturday to discover that the themostat had failed and caused damage to the control board of the central heating unit and in turn burnt out the transformer. I have a 20year HVAC man that works for me replace the parts and repair the unit to its full operation. The client still hasn't paid us."

He is incredibly hardworking, responsible, and answered my initially inquiry in less than 3 minutes (on a holiday). In fact, I was still reading the Service Magic website when I received his call. I am waiting for the bill to arrive but I was very impressed that he was most concerned with my getting the gutters cleaned before a big storm arrived into town. I definately would recommend him!!

If I have another painting project, I would definitely use them again. I didn't need to be home for them to do the work. When I got home, the job was done and I didn't have to clean-up after them.

Alan and his crew were somewhat thorough and prompt. They were overall willing to fix any errors and clean up areas that needed it before we paid off the contract. We did find a lot of paint on non-wall surfaces, but most has been easily removed. They are reliable and prompt with their work ethics. We were able to take a 3 week vacation while the interior of our house was painted by craftsmith coatings.
