Crew Plumbing & Renovation

I hired Jacob White, who told me he was the owner of Crew, to convert my fireplace to gas. He also installed a tankless water heater. I was happy with his teams work, so I asked for a bathroom addition quote, and it went downhill from there. There were so many lies that I do not know where to begin. He hired an outside plumber because he claimed my city was taking too long to give him certification to plumb (for the permits). I initially gave him about $6000 as a deposit, and over the course of about 6 months, I gave him about $8000 more, which included replacing my plumbing stack, replacing my sump and backup, and bathroom work. The outside plumbing company did their work in two days, and, come to find out, Jake bounced at least three checks in an attempt to pay them. He never paid them. He asked me to settle the bill LONG before he was finished with the job, which I did not do, but I did give him two draws when he told me he did not have money for supplies, etc. That was a bad decision on my part, but he played my emotional side like a fiddle. I fired him, hired a new contractor, and discovered many issues with the bathroom, including that he did not even use waterproof green board in my shower, did not wire it for an exhaust (which I paid for), and a host of other issues. Also, there was a warranty on the work he did, which included flushing the water heater. He has not returned my calls or texts about that. DO NOT use Jake White or, frankly, any of his associates (Josh or Dustin). Anyone who would partner with a fraud like Jake must be in on that deal.

This company provided poor customer service and did not complete the job fully, they cause additional damage in my kitchen, they know this since October 2021 and the company yet does not complete the job.

Project Delayed.

Extremely negative experience where nothing that was promised was delivered. Lack of communication, never on time, and after having another company fix the issue, they are giving the run around on getting the deposit back. The issue was a pipe leak in the basement. The Technician arrived 4 hours late to the first appointment and gave 3 quotes: Band-Aid (not recommended) $715, recommended $2,611 and the tech was not willing/able to do any fixes that day. The tech was late for the second appointment scheduled and after 2 hours after the appointment time, I could not wait so we rescheduled. A 1/3 deposit was required which I paid online with a credit card. Next appt. scheduled 9 AM. I called at 11 AM when no one had arrived and was told the Tech took another job and would be on his way within minutes. Still no show at 2 PM. I called. Said he was finishing another job be there soon. Frustrated with the waiting, I declined service and called Morgan at the office number. Asked for deposit reimbursement to a credit card. It has been two months and after multiple calls to the office blaming the processing system and being told the refund was issued, I was told Wednesday that the refund would be delivered to the house. It is now Friday and no refund has been delivered. Another plumber fixed the leak for $125 in one 15-minute appointment.

Great follow up

Started out well but ended up with a disaster yesterday. Did not perform as promised ended with a SHODDY job. 2 days job ended incomplete even after 8 DAYS. Showed up terribly late everyday and sometimes did not show up. It appears they are taking on jobs more than they can handle. Put an expert on our project who was driving almost 100 miles one way heard him complaining and hating the drive gas costs and time. Was considering telling his boss not to put him on Dayton jobs. We had checked out their reviews and still hired them because I found the gentleman sincere and honest, thought could trust him and were the lowest bidder. Like they say CHEAPEST MAY NOT BE THE BEST. We have filed a complaint/dispute with the CC Company. The worst of all, WE COULD NOT USE TOILET AND SHOWER FOR 8 DAYS, AND COUNTING ON OR UNTILL JOB IS FINISHED, COULD NOT PARK OUR BRAND NEW EXPENSIVE SUV INSIDE GARAGE EVEN YET TODAY WITH RENOVATION MATERIALS STILL INSIDE GARAGE. We are trying to resolve this matter with CREW, please save and hold our review until then and will follow up with you with the result.

Nice gentleman, but he installed the wrong sized fitting. Completely unacceptable! Service provided is of no value. System cannot be used as is.

Where can I start. They were on time, efficient, knowledgeable, high quality work. They made a loyal longtime customer out of me. I would highly recommend this company.

Josh was amazing he took time and explained what was wrong gave us background knowledge of his experience and provided excellent service I woul definitely recommend this company to anyone big or small projects.We are having them return for additional projects thanks Angi!!!

Never returned to finish,had to contact another company to reset the base and complete job.this is a very bad way to treat anyone.they did not have the nerve to call.would never recommend this third rate co.

Work to install new and backup sump pumps as well as water softener was completed as specified and in the time promised. The crew answered all questions and cleaned up all debris. This was a great experience!
