This person, Chester Deberry represented himself as a tree cutter and logger. He promised that he would do a quick a thorough job. Instead, he went nearly 4 weeks and completed less than 1/2 of the job. After verbal promises and a signed agreement, he showed up with one experienced logger, one chain saw and no crew nor safety equipment. He had some of the trees cut down and piled into oyur driveway. Dropped one tree onto our neighbor's lawn and nearly hurt himself in the process. None of the major trees that we contracted for were cut because the logger he brought was not furnished with the proper equipment not support crew. The logger actually purchased equipment himself to attempt to do the job as Deberry had promised but got no substancial support from Deberry. Just before the Christmas Holiday, I paid him well more than half of his agreed upon price, so he could pay his employees for the Holiday. Then I got an email stating that because I had told him that he was unqualified to run the job, he stated that HE was not going to honor the contract and kept the money paid to him. I have contacted the State Attorney General office of Consumer Protection and am filing a formal complaint. DO NOT CONSIDER HIRING THIS PERSON. He has little if any personal experience in tree cutting, lied to us throughout the entire job, many days did not show up at all and often when he did it was with one laborer and the one person did what work he could do while Deberry stood in the driveway on the phone or sat in his truck, which I later discovered was not properly titled as well as not insured. Our situation is far worse than it was before he started and we are now having to find money that we don't have to clean up the horrible mess that he left. We were lied to and paid for services that we did not get.
