Unfortunately, I have to spend my free time spreading the word about this shotty contractor. Please share and tell everyone to NOT HIRE THESE GUYS! I hired C&S fence and gate in Pierson,Fl. to install vinyl fencing last May. I paid for concrete on every post due to our climate conditions. It downpoured rained stormed while they set my posts. They didnâ t mix the concrete and I donâ t have concrete all the way around the posts. They just poured the bag in the post hole to slammed it out before the concrete hardened. They didnâ t mix the concrete and it just crumbles. I have no concrete in the bad sections. Below is a youtube video link of their work. I apologize in the video, I said (C&W) not C&S. Itâ s C&S fence and gate. I have contacted the owner and he thinks this was done correctly. If you want to help me, please leave a review on google showing their integrity. This is a workmanship problem not storm damage. I also have posts sagging, flimsy gates and they donâ t return their calls. Also their employees started to install it incorrectly per plan and I had to babysit that process too. They do not stand behind their work. I should see concrete all around my postsâ ¦..end of story. Iâ m also looking for a good lawyer to go after these guys. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0jQb829OB7Q

    Response from Company:

Hurricane Milton brought strong winds to Florida for approximately eight hours. The storm made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane on Florida's west coast and impacted us as a Category 2 on the east coast. This resulted in heavy rainfall, flooding, tornadoes, and storm surges. In Volusia County, sustained winds exceeded 80 to 100 miles per hour, accompanied by more than 12 inches of rain. Prolonged exposure to high winds can create pressure that strains the structure of fences. Additionally, heavy rain and flooding can disturb the soil around your fence posts, leading to instability and potentially causing a leaning fence. It's also important to consider that the direction of the wind can impact your property differently; if the wind hits your fence first, it may create a blockage for your neighbors, resulting in less damage to their property and more to yours. Hurricane Milton was classified as a major hurricane upon reaching Florida. As stated in our warranty, damage caused by Acts of God is not covered. I want to clarify that the fence you paid for does indeed have concrete at each post. You confirmed in your email that you observed us using 50-pound bags of concrete during the installation and had specific questions about the gate post, which contains 100 pounds. As we stated, all posts were secured with 50-pound bags, and the gate post received the additional 100 pounds, consistent with our standard installation practices. We have adhered to this method for years, and the unfortunate circumstances following the hurricane can lead to challenges similar to what you are experiencing. It's important to note that you are reaching out after a significant storm, and our warranty explicitly does not cover storm damage. Given that Florida has not experienced a major Category hurricane in over a decade, we have now researched and looked up ways to take additional steps to help existing and future customers prepare for future major hurricanes as Florida is now a very hot spot for them. However, we cannot control Mother Nature or its effects. To help minimize potential damage, we can reinforce your fence by adding over 100 pounds of concrete to each post and installing stiffeners for enhanced stability. Furthermore, I must address the tone and behavior evident in your communications with my team, which I find uncalled for. The level of disrespect and rudeness we have experienced is unacceptable. We believe it is best for both parties to part ways regarding any future work. We truly wish you the best moving forward. I also want to point out that you mentioned having to "babysit" the installation process. If it was not being done to your standards, why did you not speak up? We have made every effort to work with you, but you have been very disrespectful and hostile regarding circumstances beyond our control. You were aware that our warranty does not cover any damage following an Act of God, and given that, you should have reconsidered proceeding. You understood the terms. You expressed a desire for large gates, and we informed you that you might encounter flimsy options, to which you acknowledged. After experiencing a major storm -- something you had not encountered before, as you mentioned in your conversation with our office -- and given your unfamiliarity with hurricane strength and the damage it can cause, you now believe the issue lies with our workmanship. However, prior to Hurricane Milton, you never reached out to us via call, email, or any form of communication with your concerns.

CNS install a black chain link fence around my pool about 2 years ago. A few weeks later the top right plastic hinge cracked and the door was off center and would not close properly. Chris came out to look at it and said well I have never seen that before. I assumed he would come out and fix it or take care of the situation. He never called. He never fixed it. I called them four or five times over the next many months. During covid, they said oh we can not get the parts now. This week the hinge came apart and my door is left hanging. So I called one more time on 8/4-5/22. Their representative said it s not our fault, hinting that I must have broken it., Not bad for a 73-year-old. She said they would come to fix it for 400 plus dollars. I said no thanks. I was thinking if I had bought a brand new car and a month later the alternator was bad what would I think if the dealer said it is not my fault? I would suggest that you find a company that stands behind their product and their work.

    Response from Company:

Thank you for your review. We explained to you that our warranty is covered by our installation work. You had us come out over a month later to look at the damage. You then proceed to explain to us that the gate hinge was broken due to your grandkids swinging on the gate. We are going to replace the hinges as a courtesy however there is a charge for the labor. You did not like that there was a charge, so you never called back. You called back months later due to the gate still being damaged and proceed to state we should cover it. We apologize you did not feel that we should charge for the labor to replace the hinges for improper use. Also, we were not able to get the hinges replaced by the manufacturer since this damage to the hinge was not caused by normal wear and tear. If you change your mind, we do have the hinges in stock and we will give them to you at no charge as a courtesy and you can install them yourself.

We bought a new house in DeLand and could not move into house without a fence for our pups. We had just closed on house and needed the work done as soon as possible to begin the moving process. Chris responded quickly to email and met us after arranging a time. He expertly measured property, listened to what we had in mind, gave us his input and shared his knowledge about the area. He had quotes for us within a few days. He provided the information needed to have the HOA approve the fence. He applied for permit, that took a few weeks, and he began work as soon as permit received. He actually installed the gate while communicating with us on the phone in Miami. He sent very detailed pictures of the new fence explaining exactly which part of the fence was show in pic. He was adjust his plans when we realized a mistake we had make in our design, ( not being able to let the puppies out to yard from both floor of house.) I can't say enough about how uncomplicated this seemingly complicated process turned out. We are looking forward to living in DeLand if everyone is as helpful and dependable as Chris and his C&S fence company. We are in the Glenwood Oaks area. It was overall a 5 star plus experience. I would indeed highly recommend Chris for anyone needing a fence.

The crew worked the entire day without taking a break. The fencing I had put in ran through a difficult area to work in, lots of trees and roots.I am extremely satisfied with the job and the pricing. I would definitely recommend them for any fencing projects!

C&S Fence was recommended by Home Advisor who I always look to for referrals. Chris came out promptly and gave me a quote plus offered a Veterans Discount. I then received quotes from 5 other companies. C&S price quotes were more than fair and reasonable. The crew arrived on time and did a fantastic job.. Great and friendly guys who were more than happy to answer ANY questions I had. If anyone is looking for a fantastic fence and gate company with great prices, top notch materials and superior workmanship C&S Fence and Gate Company should be the 1st one on their list...

I checked with several companies about having a vinyl fence installed. C & S Fence was the best value and they immediately applied for a permit and had my fence installed within two days of receiving the permit. The fence looks beautiful. This company went far beyond my expectations and I would recommend them to anyone needing a fence.
