We started a bathtub remodel project in August 2021, and it was finished a year later. They were a no-show for the first construction date and I had to reschedule construction 2 more times because they did not have the permits. Then 5 days before the scheduled construction, Alex B. calls to say he has been assigned as the project manager and is rescheduling the job. On the day of construction in January, the crew shows up and I am told it is not a 1-day job but rather a 3-day job. Then I see the foreman repeatedly measuring the room and making calls to the office. I can feel a problem coming on. Sure enough, the office staff calls me to tell me the measurements were wrong and that they are going to have to build out the long wall by 2 inches, build out the short wall by 4 inches, and that it will be an additional charge. Instead of a 98 sq. ft. shower, I will be getting a 90 square. feet shower. I talk to the crew and ask for alternatives. They suggest that the only way to make the project right is to order a new tub of the proper dimensions but that it will take 6 weeks. I agree to that and get 2 more calls from the office making contradictory statements until it is finally resolved. Three days later, Alex B. calls me again saying that he does not understand the project. I spend 50 minutes on the phone trying to explain the project to him, telling him to look at the pictures and repeating what has happened. I finally realized he is completely incompetent as well as unprofessional, so I demand to speak to the manager. I had to ask on four separate occasions before Alex finally connected me to Michael G. At that point, Reborn had 90% of my money for the project and I had a large dirt hole in my bathroom. We spent 8 weeks showering at the gym and during that time, I receive yet ANOTHER call from the office telling me that I need to build out the short wall by 4 inches at my expense. I can speak to Diana (who quit shortly thereafter) in their office and work it out AGAIN. During the tear-out, Reborn staff damaged my wood floor and did not tell me about it. I was promised the same team from the tear-out and I got a new team that left me with a tub faucet that jiggled as jello and water GUSHES out of both the tub faucet and the shower head simultaneously. I had 6 different visits from various repairmen interspersed with weeks of waiting for a new faucet or waiting for a new gadget that was going to solve the problem. On the second to last scheduled visit, I had a no-show. When the shower was fixed, I wanted to speak to Michael G., the manager, about my compensation. Michael refused to talk to me and I was threatened that if I did not take the $800 offer, it would be rescinded. The agent continued to aggressively press me to make the final payment which was both creepy and intimidating because I was home alone. But I stuck to my guns and after the agent finally left I remembered the $350 reimbursement I am due for the floor repair. When I asked about that, he said it is included in the $800. I believe he was trying to trick me when he pressured me to pay without an invoice! I asked for a copy of the invoice, and it does not show a refund! The agent calls me repeatedly and I say repeatedly that I want to speak to Michael G. at which point he tells me Michael does not want to speak to me and threatened me by saying that IF Michael spoke to me, it would only reduce the offer. At this point, I just wanted the owner to know what is going on in his company. They sent me a letter threatening to go to a collections agency.
