"When I installed the materials there was an expectation of perfection and yet the client hired a human to do this and at a very modest cost. I ordered the materials originally that took about 3 weeks to arrive, which is normal. Then I had to re-order another piece to correct the issue. Once I received the piece and was ready to construct the backsplash, I was told that they did not want me back in their home and didn't even allow me to make good on my warranty of the product to achieve a better install. We offer a good product and a good installation, if your expectation is beyond that maybe hiring a human is not where you should be shopping. If we charged for superior or perfection, then we would not get jobs in Arkansas. In California people may have higher expectations, but they also really pay through the nose for that perfection. We strive for good installations, but like most we cannot please everyone."

"The customer had asked for specific things to be done, not remodel them. Like adding 1/4 inch panels to the sides of some of the cabinets, which I did and adding shelf fronts to sagging shelves, which I did. She asked that I add a flat panel on the back of the Island, which I did. She also asked me to install 2 cabinets which I also did $80.00 value all by itself. I had to pull and reinstall several cabinets due to the customer installing them incorrectly. I sanded the entire face of the cabinets where they left nails and I pulled these nails and sanded and filled as needed, filling voids and cracks. When they originally asked me what I'd do, I told them that every cabinet shop would tell them to replace them, but due to costs they were determined to keep the cabinets. They had pulled the cabinets and installed them improperly and asked me to assist them. They stated that they needed help because they had never done this before. I spent money on materials and an entire day of labor to try and meet this customers requests. When I was done they still looked like 50 year old cabinets, but improved over what they looked like before. The cabinets had not even been painted. At the end of the job they paid the $400 agreed upon price. Then a couple of days later she called telling me that she thought that the cabinets should look better than they did and would I come back and do more work on the interior of the cabinets for no added money. I did everything they asked of me and yet they give a rating of someone who doesn't even show up to do the work requested. That's the thanks you get, these days ... Their expectations exceeded reality!"

"This customer was comparing cost of our laminate counter-top with solid surface edging to her vinyl floor cost. When you compare our counter-top cost of $10 per square foot to the Home Adviser average cost of $26 per square foot, you can easily see that our value for the money is very good. Comparing counter-top cost to counter-top cost, we are a very good Value for the Money. Customer had a lot going on and mis-understood what edge we could provide for her based on the products she chose. Can't please everyone at a 5.0..."

"This customer is a home inspector, so he was less understanding than most of our customers. Though our standards are high, some of our customer's still strive for perfection. Once hinges are screwed into the face of a cabinet and then the hinges are changed to Euro style hidden hinges there is no way without a lot of added work to hide the hinge holes in the face of the wood. They couldn't beat our price for the work we accomplished."
