New Scapes

My yard looks like a million dollar job. Much better then what was there before.Very, happy. I love it.

Promised us some fertilizer but has not delivered to date, otherwise the installation was smooth and looks good so far....

Russell and his staff were very polite and the work was completed and it looked beautiful! They cleaned up afterwards also. I did recomend them to my friend and he hired them also.

I called them up. They came for a free quote and job was done next day. Very reliable and fast. Thanks NEW SCAPES....

They came out and gave me a quote on the spot, they were in the same cost range as most of the other contractors, many of whom never submitted a quote! It took a couple of weeks for them to actually start, but once they did, they were prompt and professional. They had the entire job done in about 4 days.

Although Cal-Scape worked on the project they did not completly solve my problem

It took a little longer than planned, and cost a bit more than originally estimated, but the end result is very good. They installed automatic sprinklers and a stamped and colored concrete porch, walkway, and patio.

Cal-Scape can complete the project at a reasonable price, kind of, but customer service is sorely lacking. They had quoted a turnaround time of less than a week when the project actually took more than 2. No explanation was given for the increased timeline. We were charged about $1,000 in change orders without prior notification or approval. We are currently trying to resolve issues with some of the plants dying within a couple of weeks of installation. The company has been largely unresponsive to this warranty work. This lack of service post project have made it difficult for us to enjoy our new landscaping.

5-07: Russell and his crew recently completed our large backyard. It looks great!. Russell gets an A+ for design and quality. He has an "I will do whatever you want" attitude and then does it. He was true to his word and we had no problems with our contract. Also, Russell was almost always available to take our calls when we needed to speak to him. It took a bit longer to do the job than we anticipated, but considering the amount of work that went into the yard, it was reasonable. So be patient. His crew is great too. Information provided in estimate did not include all work that needed to be done. I felt there was a communication problem and did not get a friendly or professional response. The work in the end was satisfactory, but I'm not sure I would recommend them to others. They did some things without asking questions and had to redo the task. They put a big silver transformer box on my front porch and tried to tell me it had to be there. I had to make them move it - it was ugly. He assumed it would be OK because a chair was in front of it, but what it I wanted to move the chair. Defeated the purpose of having nice landscaping done.

Very poor and unclear communications with some staff. Confusion about certain items and dates of job and what was going to be done on those days were not consistant. Some staff worked out great with quality customer follow through, when others failed miserably.

October 2005: The landscaping was just completed. It was my design by a landscape architect for the front-, back- and sideyard. I was able to make numerous changes and upgrades. It turned out beautiful!

The work performed was great but the lines of communication with Russell were very poor; he would call back but it would be a day or so later and workers would not always show up as planned. Entire project took over 3 months to complete.

This contractor had no valid license to contract at time of contract formation. Cal-Scape breached contract by refusing to deal in good faith to honor the contract. Did not provide bargained for conditions as written in contract. Failed to respond at attempts to communicate customer service needs. Much more left me very dissatisfied with end product and validity of service warranty.

I'm schueled for late July early Aug. to have the work done. Will complete this rating after the job is done

I was disappointed with Cal Scape's service. They told me the job would take 2 - 3 days. The job actually took 4 days - spread out over an entire month! I was stuck with a dirt pit for 3 full weeks - with no contact whatsoever from Cal Scape. When I called them, the response I received was "I was supposed to call you. I forgot." At some point, I did receive one call informing me that the crew would be out the next day. They finally showed up to finish the job a week later. There were other issues as well, but I'm limited to 650 characters, so I'll leave it at that. Needless to say, I will not call them for service again.

Took 9 weeks when said it would be 2 weeks, I had to make several calls to fix errors. I had to count the pants and have come back to plant what I paid for. They tried to raise the bill after the work was done. I would look elsewhere when looking for landscaping. I

Havn't started work yet. Called, but no call back.

They were to start my project about two weeks ago and have yet to schedule me. They say that they are behind and that one of their project managers left on vacation and has yet to return. In the meantime I am waiting without a firm date and have already paid a $4000 plus deposit. I cannot comment about any other apsect of the project because no work has been done.

I have signed a contract, but the project hasn't started yet. I will rate when the work is completed.

Although initially the vendor representative did a great job with the design, the follow-up by the supervisor was very inconsistent. The work they did perform was done well and timely. However, a number of items on the work order were not performed. After several follow-up phone calls they still have not been performed. I made a payment for the services rendered, but not for the services not performed. After a year, they have still not completed the job. I would not use them again.
