Excellent work. Very happy with the finished results. Josh was willing to answer any and every question put to him. Patient, courteous and professional. He and his crew were very organized and kept things as clean as possible during the messy job of taking up the old flooring in our kitchen and two bathrooms. I am in the process of having him back to do some laminate flooring.

The schedule was delayed a couple times without notifications. On the day he was supposed to start on mine in March 2015, he went out of town to work for someone else, I only found out after calling him., I was aggravated enough, but tried to ignore it. The estimate was to rebuild the complete 15 year old shower walls & pan. When he got to the shower pan demolition part, he tried to convince me not to rebuild a 15 year old shower pan because it didn't look too bad??? This just blew my mind away, the whole point of hiring him to rebuild the shower pan was because I wanted it to be like brand new to begin with. I emphasized that point many times from the beginning, regardless of the condition. Next, I paid $175.00 extra to have stain resistant grout installed. The urethane grout was recommended by him, but after 6 months the grout was stained anyway. After researching, I found out that epoxy grout should have been used for stain resistant application. I called him about that issue, in the middle of the conversation he said he had to hang up and promised he'll call me back. Well, guess what... he lied, he never called back. I guess he'll be my EX contractor. Lots of aggravation for my personal experience, I can not really recommend this guy at all.

"Michael, I am really surprised that you would leave such a comment like this. When you came to me about your leaking shower my suggestion was to replace the whole thing, WHICH WE DID. I tore out the complete shower down to the HOT MOP, which that wasn't where the leak was if you do recall, the leak was with the cold joint between hot mop and mud float above hot mop line. WHY WOULD WE FIX A PAN IF IT'S NOT LEAKING , AND WHEN WE DO A WATERPROOF OVER THE HOT MOP AND ON SUBSTRATE BEFORE TILE INSTALLATION ANYWAYS. You think by going on the internet you gain all this knowledge, THEN WHY ARE YOU HIRING ME IF YOU KNOW IT ALL. As far as the grout staining , yes I did sell you the urethane grout as I said it was and I quote HIGHLY STAIN RESISTANT not %100 percent stain resistant. I do not know what you are using to clean your shower, to me it's funny because you wait 6 MONTHS to call me, not because of an issue with shower quality or leaking , but with some silly grout staining that I have no control over . And if you have any sense in regards to epoxy grout, it is used for commercial kitchens NOT RESIDENTIAL and even epoxy stains so in my final thoughts , you came to CALWEST TILE DESIGN because you had a leaking shower, we rebuilt a whole new shower for you which was nothing shy of a good job."

I would highly recommend CalWest Tile and Josh West. Josh repaired our tile after a previous contractor did not seal a crack in the foundation. Due to the ineptness of my original contractor, grout and tile were coming up after less than a year. Josh came in, explained repair process, provided a fair quote, and did an absolutely amazing job on repair. Josh and his crew were extremely polite, professional, and knowledgeable regarding work that needed to be done. I could not have been more impressed with the overall service. My only regret is that I did not know Josh prior to the original job, as I'm sure I would not have needed any repairs!

Many mis-steps, miscommunication and outright arguments with staff making for an unpleasant experience. In all the job was done ahead of schedule, of high quality, and economical. It's just not what I wanted. Among other things including the back splash tile orientation, I was told the granite tile edge would be bull nosed to look like granite slab - wrong. Edges look like granite tile. This I don't like at all. And I could have done with less drama. The staff threatened to walk off the job because they were offended. Like I said too much drama.

We bought an older house in need of a new kitchen backsplash. Josh came in, looked, designed and installed a beautiful update to our home. He and his crew arrived when they said they would, worked quickly and cleaned up afterward. All we had to do was admire and enjoy the result. Josh did an excellent job on my master bathroom shower. Before hiring for my master bathroom. My second bath shower had a water leak from the shower door. The pervious wanted to tear out the show to fix it. Josh came in looked at it did a water test and found out the door was lacking silicone. That alone sold me him him.

Very good with follow up and keeping us posted on tile purchase and install date. The work was excellent and it was tricky as we were trying to match existing tile that was no longer available. Very pleasant team to work with. Highly recommend them.

I had some plumbing work done, I needed to replace several stone in the floor. josh was able to perfect stone as if I never had a problem. josh also was able to install a mini door for my Jacuzzi tub. i will keep him on speed dial for additional work and repair
