History: Reis Calfayan, founder of Calfayan Construction Associates, Inc., began his career as a carpenter's helper doing historical restoration work. From his mentor, Gino Minardi, he learned how to take pride in doing beautiful work, to be an honorable businessman and to be true to his craft. During his apprenticeship he learned a great deal about production and carpentry techniques. During the course of his career, Calfayan led a project management company that rehabilitated H.U.D. homes and worked as a subcontractor for several general contractors and home builders, mostly doing interior trim work and historical restoration. In 1993 he formed Calfayan Custom Carpentry and put the skills he had acquired over the years to work. As the years progressed & Calfayan Custom Carpentry became known for its exceptional kitchen, bath & custom addition projects, the company realized it had outgrown its name. The company offers much more than custom carpentry & they wanted to ensure that their name reflected their full capabilities.
