I had previously hired this company in the summer of 2017 to paint my patio. For the most part they did a satisfactory job but they unfastened some TV & Internet cables/wires to tape areas that were not a part of the patio. I called Calico painting a second time because I needed the exterior of my house painted along with a small interior room that is located in my garage. I also asked them to include in their estimate the cost of building a closet measuring 80 in. X 30 in. X 48 in. with a wooden rod to be installed at the top of the opening of the closet so that I would be able to attach a tapestry to the wooden rod to be able to open & close the opening of the closet. Mr. Jesse Lopez of Calico Painting and his crew did not build the closet that they agreed to include in their estimate of work. When I asked him about it he said that he had not agreed to include the cost of building the closet into his estimate. I then asked him that if it was true that he did not agree to include the cost of building the closet in the estimate why had he specifically asked me when I was going to move some yard tools, hand tools and storage boxes out of his way so that he could bring the materials that they needed to build the closet the previous week that he was at my house. I asked him if he remembered asking me that and he said yes he did remember asking me that and he then said that he would get the materials needed for the construction of the closet and that he would build it. They also told me that some of the wood trim on the front of the house was rotted due to the water that ran off of the roof when it rained and fell directly on the wood trim and in order to prevent that from happening he would need to install a piece of metal flashing to the edge of the roof directly above the area where the water was falling on the wood trim and the wood trim that needed to be replaced along with the metal flashing that was to be installed in order to prevent the water from running off of the roof and onto the wooden trim would be an extra cost which I agreed to but the piece of flashing that he installed was approximately two inches in length when it needed to be at least six inches in length. The last time that it rained the water ran off onto the new wood trim that he replaced. Mr. Jesse Lopez of Calico Painting and his crew once again unfastened TV & Internet cable/wiring that was stapled to the eaves of the house and never refastened them, they also left masking tape on the eaves of the house that they never took off even after asking him several times. They also cleaned out their painting equipment and then poured the residual mixture of paint and water on several areas of my front and back yard that was never cleaned up. They also did not prep the new wood trim that was replaced so after they painted it the paint dried and pulled away from the wood trim and they never came back to fix that problem even though he agreed to. Dean, the owner of the company, is a totally dedicated and honest professional who provided every option to us, made valuable, totally informed suggestions as to the ultimate choice we made and then accomplished the job outstandingly by every measure. He accommodated our every change without issue, just adjusted and made it perfect. The house exterior looks great--like brand new. And his price range was very competitive for the huge scope of the job. He and his crew were always on time, worked through a week of the hottest summer temperatures (in the 110 range) in the High Desert this year doing exactly what he agreed would be done, and much more. I started with an idea to have the trim painted. I was pleased with the quote. Out of curiosity I asked how much to paint the whole house. Great price. They water blasted the trim, chimney and house. Filled in cracks. Next day: Painted the entire house in one day.

mostly a sprayer not that professient with the brush. his employee was fantastic. Dean said he would power wash the trim and the stucco but never finished the stucco said" it was washing off"? that's what should happen , remove all loose stucco, dirt and grim before painting. love the dunn edwards paint !!!

The work and attention to detail by the workers was OUTSTANDING! I would recommend this company, but only if you have a LOT of time to be at home. They are so busy and Jesse, as nice as he is, can become very short and really kind of rude, but only because of his busy schedule which I understand, so maybe he just needs to manage his and his crews time a little better. I am just glad that we were off the entire week so we were able to be at home. I cannot give each of the workers more kudos because they were all very professional, did excellent work at making sure all of the prep was done effective and efficiedntly and they cleaned up every bit of their mess. So if you don't mind sitting and waiting for Jesse to show up at your appointed time, only to receive a text with some excuse as to why he can't make it, or asks to show up the next day instead, etc. on a pretty constant basis, then by all means I can recommend them. I just expect that when I hire someone to do a job, they show up when they say they will, complete the job in the time that they quote me, and not give excuse after excuse as to why they are late, or can't make it, but only after YOU contact them. I don't mind delays, but would have appreciated it if Jesse would have just called or text me instead of making me track him down. These short-comings can be overcome with better management no matter how busy they are.

Did a great job on an exterior paint job of my 2 story house! Great attention to detail. I happy with the job Dean and his Helper Eddy did they work there butts off and above and be on they patch cracks and holes in my stocco my Patio is a wood structure there were a lot of splits in the wood that had to do a caulked the job was great thanks
