John was knowledgeable, skilled, and professional. All aspects of our complete deck rebuild were considered. He provided multiple finish and wood options to accommodate our aesthetic tastes as well as budget. The deck is well constructed and beautiful, with attention to details I wouldn't have considered (picture framing). We've had numerous compliments and referred his services to friends.

I asked Callahan Carpentry & Construction to build me a desk from scratch recently because I couldn't find one with the dimensions I wanted online. Although it was an unusual project, they were happy to accommodate me. The desk had maple wood inlays, multiple drawers, and redwood legs. It turned out exactly how I asked. Great care was taken with the finish and quality of the desk and the attention to detail evident within it's framework is really something you don't find easily today. The interior of the drawers were all sanded and polished. The top of the desk was perfectly level and smooth, even with the inlays. And the special height measurement I requested was dead perfect. The drawers slide out wonderfully. The turnaround was quick and they were extremely professional with me. They even delivered and installed it for me. Though this was a special project, it's clear that this company does things with purpose and I will absolutely be hiring them again.

Quality of work was terrible. A partial list below. Also, John will not return my calls, texts or emails. We've asked for a refund and he agreed but he now has gone dark and will not answer my calls. DO NOT HIRE. I will think twice before ever using Homeadvisor again. Window casing is pieced together in odd places. Paint on windows is terrible coverage is not adequate. Windows were painted while shut so they are half white and half brown looks ridiculous. Paint slopped onto window hardware. And one of our casement window handles is now missing. Paint on bi-fold doors is not adequate already bleeding through (yellow) and coverage not adequate in several places Bi-fold doors no longer glide easily Casing around closet doors not caulked Nail holes not filled in several areas all around the room Several areas on baseboards and toe kicks do not appear to be painted (primer only) The casement on the door and the closet has brush marks (not just a little) â I thought I was paying for everything to be sprayed for a smooth finish Some of the trim has sharp nails sticking through the wood and it's just plain sharp and dangerous. Trim is not seated down in carpet so there are gaps between the trim and the carpet all around the room. It was installed too high.

John was professional, delivered on time and did a great job. He was very flexible to work with and accommodated all of our needs. Would love to hire him again.

He is young but seems to know what he is doing

We needed to paint a bathroom and bedroom before guests arrived and were very happy to get the job scheduled and completed within a few days. Work was excellent, John was knowledgeable, prompt, and professional. Highly recommend!

I had a basic idea of what I wanted in an outdoor kitchen, I called up Callahan Carpentry and Construction and had a great conversation with John. We exchanged ideas and he came out to make some measurements. He then came back with a plan that incorporated everything that I wanted and more. This outdoor kitchen turned out beautiful and functional, I am very happy with John Callahan and his services.
