Campanella Appliance Repair

I contacted this service on July 10, and was given an appt. for the following day from noon-2:00 p.m.. At about 1:30 p.m. Dan texted me to state he was about an hour behind. I said no problem. At 3:15 p.m., Dan text me stating that he was still running late, and that he would be here a little after 4:00 p.m. I suggested that we postpone the appt. for the next day. Dan said he would be here at 11:00 a.m. H arrived at 11:45 a.m. After checking out the washing machine, Dan said it needed a part. The part would cost $85.00 in addition to the $145.00 charge for the service call, a total of $230.00 payable in CASH, no credit/debit cards, at the time of the visit. He further stated that once the part was in, he would return, and install it with an additional $50.00 charge payable, also in cash. He said that he would let me know on July 13 as to the part arrival. He further stated that he should have the part in, and the machine working either July 14 or July 15. I asked about any warranty on the repair, to which Dan said there was none. He asked for my e-mail address so that he could send me a receipt for the $230.00. I paid him, and he left. About 10 minutes later, I received a text message, which turned out NOT to be a receipt, but an INVOICE for $230.00 saying it was payable upon receipt. By doing so, it seems that he took my cash money, only to claim that he was still due the money. No call about the part on July 13. No call/no show on July 14. On July 15, I called Dan. I asked about the part. He stated that it arrived in Albany, and that he was awaiting delivery. He said he would call when it came in. On July 17, I texted Dan about the part. He said the part just came in, and that everyones parts were taking longer than expected. On July 19, I texted Dan about a repair update. He said that he was trying to get to me that day. On July 20, I again texted an about his coming to do the repair. He responded that he would be at the house on July 21. No call/no show on July 21. On July 22, I texted Dan again about the repair. I told him that I was not happy with his lack of action to date, and said he had until Monday to get the repair completed, or I wanted my money back. He replied to this text on July 23, stating he would drop off the part on Monday, July 24. Monday came and went--no call/no show. On July 26, and days since, I have trying to contact Dan via phone calls, and texts. I have been blocked from these numbers by Dan. It is now July 31, and I still have a broken washing machine, and very little hope that Dan will repair it. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY, AND DO NOT DO THE WORK. My next step may be to go to small claims court.

I WILL use him again if I need his services. However, I feel he was not the greatest for communicating his schedule and appointments. But he did a great job repairing my dishwasher. He had a problem getting the required part and I would have liked more communication about status and schedule. He did say he hadn't provided more communication because he lost my number, I probably should have called him for a status instead of just waiting. He eventually just showed up and it worked out fine. I will use him again if I need him!

Great job. Same day service

They gave up on the project - repairing a microwave. After several weeks of waiting I hired someone else and I was repaired in two days. They (Campanella) did not respond to texts and their business phone system always had Status of "Mailbox Full".

Dan and David are amazing. I had a broken dryer that Sears tried to scam me on repair; I subsequently found Campanella online and David walked me through the whole process, including telling me what part to order for 1/4 of the price of Sears. They came the day after the part arrived and repaired the dryer within just two hours! I also want to note that this was a challenging situation, as our dryer is in an unusually tight space. While doing the repair, they also noted and fixed a fire hazard. They are total pros and I will be recommending them to everyone I know in the Hudson Valley/Catskills! Stay away from Sears, and use Campanella!

Steven is a thief. He takes peopleâ s money and does not finish the job. He orders second hand parts and sells them to customers as new. He makes you pay in advance for everything because he knows that the job will not be finished. You can call day and night the answering machine is always full. He also never answers your texts. His license should be taken away. A very dishonest person.

My dryer broke so I did some research and gave them a call mid morning and a few hours later they showed up and fixed the issue.

We were extremely happy with the service for our dishwasher. Dan showed up at the time he promised. He was very knowledgeable about dishwashers and other appliances. He repaired our dishwasher in about one hour. The price was reasonable too. I I’ll be calling Dan for all of our appliance repairs. Thank you Dan!!

Gentlemen named Dan came out for the installation. Nice guy. Made sure the appliance was working properly before he left and removed the old appliance from my property.

I had a refrigerator with a broken ice maker and an oven that stopped working. When Steve and Dan came to repair they said the following: The ice maker could be repaired and that they would have to send out the motherboard from the oven to be repaired as it could not be replaced. They charged me a total of $870 in diagnosis and parts. This was over three months ago. They repaired; the ice maker and to this date, it still does not work. When they replaced the motherboard in the oven it still would not work. He told me that I needed to spend another $450 on parts. Instead, I opted to buy another oven. To this date, they do not return my calls or emails

Lack of communication. Months have gone by and I had to reach out to him to get updates. When you hire someone, months are way too long of a time to go by without communication. The service provider should be the one reaching out to the customer.

Condescending, unreliable, dishonest

I called in the afternoon, they called right back and wanted to come later that afternoon, but I was going out. Came the next morning and fixed my dryer. Dan did a great job. very knowledgeable and thorough, and takes pride in his work. I will recommend them to friends and will use them again in the future.

Had to come back. Did not repair the first time. Working but still cannot get the refrigerator below 40 degrees.

After calling several appliance repair companies with no response, Steve responded quickly and had his brother at our house 7pm that evening to look at our fridge that was not cooling for past week. Friendly, knowledgeable and reliable!
