Canopy Lawn Care

We turned over the care of our lawn to Canopy in summer of 2022 when it was one of the nicest lawns in the neighborhood. In July of 2023 Canopy poisoned the grass. The grass first started dying along the curb/sidewalk area and when we noticed this taking place we were paid a visit by Canopyâ s Director of Agronomy. They concluded this area would need to be repaired. They took responsibility for and speculated that it occurred due to malfunctioning of the machine used for product application. I said that I also saw evidence of stressed grass throughout the yard and predicted that the death would spread over time. Canopy disagreed. Unfortunately, I was right and throughout the summer and into September the death spread in a diffuse manner. By mid-September, when 50% or more of the grass had died, I asked Canopy to come out and assess our situation and determine the best course of action. They refused my request for a visit and without seeing the problem they determined it was best to aerate/seed the entire yard. Unfortunately, this just made things worse because the large riding aeration machine tore up much of the remaining good sod and left ruts and hills that looked as if moles had taken over the yard. Prior to the grass dying we had no intention to aerate the yard this fall as typically the yard has always looked fine without this kind of intervention. But now our yard is a mess through no fault of our own. It will likely take several years, or more, to restore the lawn to the condition it was in prior to it being cared for by Canopy. There were also problems with communication throughout the one year that we contracted Canopyâ s services. In one case we observed a new technician as he was heading out back to spray the back yard. Canopy knew that this was where our dogs played and it was not to be treated. Fortunately, we were home and able to intercede. When we told Canopy of this error, they said it was due to the technicianâ s inability to read/locate the Notes section of our contract that stated the back yard was off limits. Canopy left me with the impression that mistakes happen and we shouldnâ t expect perfection. More to tell but Iâ ll stop here.

Good work and prompt service

Above and beyond. This is the only phrase that even comes close to describing the experience I've had with the entire Canopy team. For the last 6 months we've subscribed to Canopy's PremiereLawn care service. This package is advertised to include regular mowing, edging, turf care, fertilization, annual aeration/seeding, shrub care and pest management. Honestly, I was apprehensive, because the lawncare companies we've hired in the past have always been pretty disappointing... but Canopy has been amazing. First, there's Ms. Emily who I've never even spoken to in person, but I feel like I know her. Anytime I need something, I just send Emily a text and she immediately takes care of it for me. Then, there's Pete, Justin, Luke and Chris who have been maintaining our lawn. I know their names, because they send me a written report with photos each time they are at the house. I've never once had to hound them to come out and mow, and they have stayed perfectly on top of the maintenance program we signed up for. (In fact, I got an email one day explaining how the mower had cracked our clean out drain cap, and they had it fixed within a week. Are you kidding me?! Anyone else wouldn't even have mentioned it. So impressive.) And finally, there's Jason and his world-class landscaping team. After having such a great experience with the lawncare, we deciding to make a significant investment by having Canopy revamp all of our landscaping. Not only did Jason come out to our house multiple times to meet with us, he created custom mockups of what the landscaping could look like. We requested many changes, and never once did we feel like we were frustrating him. He is SO knowledgable and passionate about his role, and I can tell he's a great leader. Jason has built an amazing landscaping team, as well. They are all so talented, and they did a tremendous job on our property. His team did so many little things to go above and beyond. When they reached the point where any other landscaping company would have left, I swear they were only half done. The results are gorgeous and thoughtful, and I love how pricing was made clear from the beginning. To close, my wife and I have worked extremely hard to own our home. The entire team at Canopy helps us properly care for something we feel very fortunate to have, and we are so thankful to have found them.

Hired Canopy for lawn care which they have excelled at with impeccable communication and consistent quality service. We have worked with two landscape care companies prior and Canopy is in a league of its own. They also installed drainage and irrigate for us during which they maintained the same level of care, professionalism and communication that they do with the routine lawn care. Couldn't be happier with their service and would highly recommend them to anyone.

March 17, 2020 I highly recommend CANOPY LAWN CARE. They created a miracle of rehabilitating our decrepit lawn into a beautiful green carpet lawn. Our hands-on worker, Chris, filled in top soil where desperately needed; aerated the badly neglected front lawn; and has continued for the several years he has serviced our house with excellent and expert care. Chris has advised us as to the treatments needed and has been very patient with all my questions. After each treatment, he summarizes what work he has done and provides photos of his handiwork. We have received summaries of his work and also photos whether we are at home or away. Very reliable fellow and very professional. We trust his good judgment and are very thrilled with his work. I got a very good, dependable and professional yard aeration service at a very reasonable price from Canopy. On arrival, they even proposed to blow the leaves before overseeding - which was not part of the deal! They answered all of my questions patiently. Overall, I got a very warm feeling about this company and plan to keep hiring them each Fall going forward.

I decided to hire this company because they told me I could get lawn mowing services as well as plant & flower recommendations/planting and, mulch and pine straw installation. The lawn mowing took place almost immediately and it was done well. However, it took several more calls/texts to get someone out to our home to measure for mulch and recommend plants & flowers. The gentleman measured for the mulch, but was not able to offer plant/flower recommendations. BIG disappointment!! Then when the estimate for mulch and pine straw was sent to us I nearly choked at the cost! In the 4 years we have lived in our home we've never paid more than $150.00, but Canopy wanted nearly $500.00. So, overall I'd say the lawn mowing was done well, but the other services I was promised were a bust!
