Good at elevated/ walkout garage

I personally believe the company probably does great work but their customer service is horrible. Their failure to communicate with the customer is their biggest downfall. I have been dealing with this company for approximately 3/4 months and they have NEVER contacted me once. I signed a contract with them on 2 Aug 2023, they said they would start building the 1st week of October and we have not even made it thru the planning phase as of today. They initially told me that there was NO engineering plan required and we were just waiting on the permit from the county. On 10 October I find out the plan was rejected again by the County and now the company wants me to pay for an engineered plan. It is not about the money but it is all about principle. Why does it take two months for the Company to get a plan approved (which you initially told me) was not needed at all? Why did the company fail to communicate with me throughout this entire process? If they would have told me one month ago that I needed to pay for the plan I would have! I feel like I wasted months dealing with this company when I could have found someone else to do the project for me. I have such a sour taste in my mouth now I truly do not want to deal with any more contractors. The sad part of all of this is when I called the company yesterday to tell them that I am pulling away from this project, the owner has NEVER called me to apologize. I guess my small fish project just got lost in his very big pond. My green money must not be green enough.
