Shed, Barn or Playhouse Repair
Mike and Jimmy of Captain Wood repaired my early 1800s post and beam barn. They did a great job of stabilizing the structure while keeping things looking good. Mike is a great communicator - if you hire these guys you will always know what's happening and why.

Mike and Jim did a great job for us. We had a water issue in our finished basement. The remediation company installed a drain and sump pump. As a result the wall needed to be rebuilt ( studs, drywall, electric, re-install beadboard paneling ). Mike performed the work in an excellent manner. He kept us informed of his progress and any issues that came up unexpectedly. We are very happy with his work.

Had a ceiling/roof leak in the back bedroom. After having the sheetrock removed, discovered structural issues. Mike and Jimmy did a great job tearing out the whole ceiling, repairing and strengthening the rafters, installing insulation, and finishing off and painting the sheetrock. Very knowledgeable, personable, great work, and fair price. Highly recommend them.

We had two old and rusting lally columns replaced in the garage. Mike was very prompt and responsive throughout - during the estimate and the work phase of this renovation project. He is a very knowledgeable and resourceful master carpenter and lally columns were replaced in short order.

Mike did an excellent job repairing the spring mechanism on several windows of our home. Our skylights were shattered by falling ice. I didn't know the size or brand of the skylights, so Mike called vendors until he found a match. He kept me informed of what he was doing, showed up when he said he would, and his replacement job was flawless. I definitely would recommend Captain Wood.

Some of the siding came off of my home after a couple of nights of severe winds. Mike was busy but he was able to squeeze me in for an estimate and for the repairs. He even came out on a Sunday morning to do the work. I was able to save all the pieces and he repaired it perfectly and at a reasonable price as well. I will definitely use him again.

Price was very high considering the amount of work Mike did. He charged for time hours he was not even here and also charged extra to have a "helper" with him who did not expedite the project. Would definitely not recommend.
