Overall the project went well and they were respectful of my property and the new rug and the floor air vents/ducts that needed to be cleaned where some carpet was tucked into. They had their shoes covered or took off as asked to keep my carpet clean and made sure their equipment did not put marks on my freshly painted walls. When they were done the owner told me what they did and showed me pictures of the before and after and what a great difference as I have had cats my whole life except for recently. He sent me via e-mail copies of the pictures. I left them an excellent review and I stand by my review. The reason I have a complaint is that on 12/17/24 I replaced my unit's filter with an expensive $8 wholesale filter supplied by the gentleman that cleans my unit annually. I marked the date of 12/17/24 on the filter in black marker. Carrolls Handy Services came on 1/6/25 and this was a 3-month filter which I usually change in about 2.5 months. Since the owner never told me that he changed the filter I assumed he left mine in since it was just put in and not a cheap 1 month filter. Around 3/15/25 I went to change the filter I see this very cheap, the cheapest they make I think, filter shoved in their that should have slid right in but it didn't as it was all scrunched up and only grabbed some dust around the peremiter of the filter leaving a big white circle in the center and I'm sure was no help in my heating bill. I am not asking or looking for anything. I would just like to make sure that Angi makes sure that they use a reasonable filter or to let the owner of the place they are doing the work (myself in this case) know that they changed the filter and only used a cheap flimsy filter or ask if they may have a filter they prefer they use as I had a box of filters downstairs where he was working but he never asked nor mentioned that he was changing my filter. This is why I was so late to become aware of it.
