Garage Remodeling
I had several conversations with new management who promised to show up but they never did and they stopped returning calls. I was told they were closed down by one of their service vendors who did drafting work for them. I would like to get a refund of my deposit money. If you have a contact number for them please provide a working number and address.

Bathroom Remodel
Run a fast as you can from this contractor! Master bathroom remodel is still not complete after 5 months. We signed a contract with Carter Construction on February 27 for a master bathroom remodel. Five months later, we are no where near completion of the remodel and the bathroom has been left in total and utter chaos. We have had 5 different project managers that have all quit because of Carter s business operations ( per the project managers) and have even worked with Carter Contructions owner, Ralph Carter who promised that all the delays, lack of response, would be rectified but even he cannot get things to progress per his own words in email! We have tried to work with Carter, given them so many chances, been accommodating with dates and schedules but the fact remains that we were told once permits were obtained, it would be a 2 week job. In addition, we have paid over $9000 and have asked multiple times for a refund just so we can get someone to complete this job for us since Carter cannot get anyone onsite and have been told by Carter that we do not have a right to ask for a refund and if we cancel our contract we will have to pay even more money! For the last 2 months we have been waiting for Carter to purchase faucets for tub, sink and shower and they have refused for no reason. Each time we called, Tyler said the purchase was approved but no one purchases the materials. Even Ralph, the owner said he cannot get anyone from purchasing to respond to him! We finally had to purchase the faucets ourselves and have Carter deduct it from the final quote just so we could have the plumber come back onsite after absolutely no work has been done for 2 months!! We were promised another month and the project would be complete, and still no where near completion.

Signed contract early March. Met with there designer Carol and that was the last I heard from them. A few weeks ago called to find out what the status was they said ordered trusses. Than they also said was to go to permitting department. They mentioned if I read the contract I would not get my money back. After my husband called several times. Left voice messages and no call back.

"We are Currently working on plans for your project. we have made a commitment that while we are waiting on plans and then moving forward towards a permit we would keep communication open and send out weekly updates. of course our office line is always open as well for status updates. Our goal is to get this permit as quickly as possible to move forward with the project. and as we obtain more information we will gladly communicate that with you. until that point please expect weekly updates."

As we've stated to you, we need your plot survey in order to move forward. this has caused a delay in obtaining permit because we were having difficulty reaching you. Once we have obtained all the necessary information, we will proceed on our end for getting your permit. Our main focus now is your permit, and then we will be sure that you see progress with getting your project complete. All We want to do what we can to make sure you leave us happy. Like all the other negative posts, we are experiencing the exact same thing. If I could give them zero stars, I would. We signed with them in March 2019 for a straight forward remodel of our powder bathroom. We provided them all of the details and pics to show them what we wanted. We were told our project was not that difficult, but to date, all they have done is the demo. They have been stringing us along since March, have had 4 project managers and they cannot provide or commit to any timelines for the project. The current PM Linda even commented that our project should not have taken this long and that they have some projects that have been going on for over a year now. All they do is make excuse after excuse with broken appointments and promises. We are now looking to take next steps to get what we have paid back. Stay away from them and do not believe anything they tell you.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. Hired them in May of LAST YEAR. the project still not completed, currently suing them to get money back. Here is a list of things you should keep in mind: 1) lied to me for 2 months about getting permits. Had to call the permit office to keep checking because they would say they applied for permits, but did not. 2) we had 6 project managers. They kept quitting or getting fired. 3) did not listen to what we wanted. Put everything we wanted in the contract but put completely different things in the plans and the permits. 4) hired in May of 18, broke ground in Nov of 18. Stopped working in Feb of 19 and have not seen them since. 5) they took 90 % of the money and did 50% of the work 6) cut holes in our roof to add an addition and did not cover them up so we still have water leaking into the house 3 months later 7) did not pay subcontractors. We had to pay subs directly or else they could put a lien on our house. The manager called me personally and cussed me out for doing so, even though it was allowed on our contract 8) we have been in touch with 4 other customers of theirs and heard all the same stories. They are being sued by at least 2 other people 9) disappear for months at a time with no contact 10) bad craftsmanship in all aspects. Concrete floor is lumpy and not flat. Bricks laid had literally dozens of spots where there was no mortar holding them together. Poured foundation two inches too low, which requires us at our own expense to tear up driveway and get it repoured. Door frames in brick are not tall enough, meaning we have to special order shorter doors. There is plenty of other things, but you get the idea. Please, for the love of God do not hire these people. They will take your money and run.

I signed a contract in January to get a fire place put in my house and replace two sets of glass doors. I gave them a deposit and as far as I know we don't even have our permits over 5 months later. Difficult finding out what is going on and 5 months later work not started.

"It is unfortunate that plans and permitting can take some time. each home is a different scenario. no 2 houses are the same with plans and permitting. sometimes a permit can take weeks, and sometimes months. we have begun work on the property, a huge amount of tile was laid so that once a permit is issued we can focus primarily on the permitted work. I contract this company in December 27, 2018 as today May 1 , 2019 do not start the job in my property, when I call to see the status always have a excuses and never told me when they start the job in my home, just waiting

But we strive to make sure we get through the plans and permitting process as smoothly and efficiently as we can. You are more than welcome to contact our office at any time to get a status update on where you are. We are working our best to get you through this step and when we are getting close we will let you know. We have received comments from building department on things that need to be updated and once that has been done, we will be resubmitting to the building department to see if there is anything else needed or if they will hand us your permit. please stay patient and we hope to get you in a better state of mind once this is resolved. Our gold is to address this with all due diligence possible, and we hope you can respect that."

Although we got off to a rocky start, when Carter Construction came under new management, my experience changed very quickly. Whenever there was an issue they worked diligently and quickly to resolve it. It was clear they cared very much about my project and worked hard to make us happy. I even hired them to remodel another bathroom once they finished my first project.

I had my kitchen remodeled by this company and I have nothing but great things to say about my home and this company. The workers were efficient and were able to answer any questions I had about the project. Permitting was quickly finished and the project was completed within the time frame. Garage Remodeling
I hired this company Ralph for Carter Construction and Development to build me a garage in October 2018 after some of his subcontractors told me they were not being paid and notice to owner started showing up, I still have a lien on my house because of this. I gave them a choice to pay the subs to the company of walls and finish the job with payment in full upon completion or be fired, they chose to be fired. On Feb 14, 2019, and I have paid them $33k and only 3 walls and a roof about $20k worth of work done. They cannot pull a permit in orange county due to substandard work. Seminole county inspectors told me I have to have an engineer do a site inspection because the block and roof work is so bad. Want to see the work they do come to my house, I will show you substandard and unsafe workmanship. Prints call for fascia to be a 2x6 its a 2x4 prints show a storage area in attic with space to walk trusses are 2x4 NOT 2X6 BLOCK WALLS are very bad mortar is cracking and falling out, straps that hold the roof are not there or very badly installed, lintel above door was filled with gap and broken pieces of block, VERY UNSAFE WORK. I will also be filing a complaint against his license with the DBPR

"Unfortunately, this is an absolute misrepresentation of what happened with this customer. The workmanship issues were not brought up until after Kevin received a demand letter from our attorney. We spent more than a week waiting and being patient for the payment of almost $11,000 that was due. We were promised payment and finally scheduled a time to pick it up after many assurances that we had no reason to mistrust. A few hours before payment was to be made the meeting was canceled and Kevin stated he was not paying us. We would have to finish the work and then be paid at the end. Of the sizable project, we are around 75% complete and Kevin has paid 61% of the payments. We do not trust his promise to pay us at the end. If there are legitimate issues with construction we will have no issues resolving that. However, none of it was brought up until after the deception and eventual demand letter from our attorney. With that said, we are human and do make mistakes. I do not believe this to be the case here. We have been lied to and then lied about in this review."
