MJ Concrete Repair, LLC

We originally hired MJ Concrete Repair to replace old or missing expansion joints between concrete slabs in our back patio. They recommended rubber, and flexible expansion joints but instead of putting gravel or sand into the spaces to make sure the rubber expansion joints would remain flush with the surface, they did not put in anything. Within a couple of weeks, the rubber expansion joints have slipped down into the spaces between the slabs and look terrible causing trip hazards. They were going to come out and replace the rubber expansion joints with pressure treated wood, as I requested, and we set a date for them to come out and fix the problem. They did not show up on the agreed upon day and no longer answer any of my texts or phone calls. Very poor business practice and we are very disappointed. The work that this company did was not done well and now they are not responding to come back to fix it.

This company is by far the best subcontractor I've ever had work for me on a site. They show up when scheduled, they communicate with you, they check in and get their work done. No excuses, no whining, no extra work orders. The best. I would send them to my grandparents address! Thank you E!

The project manager was very professional and met our needs, was so nice and courteous, The three young men that did the job were also professional and nice and worked hard all day to complete the project. Leveling can definitely end up looking better than too much grinding.

Communication was excellent and service was efficient. We are very satisfied with the results. Great job!

They did a quick job ~4hrs and missed a few fill spots that I pointed out. They did not sweep/clean up after the job and left dust everywhere. They should have used a shop vac to suck up all the dust from drilling.

This was not a pleasant experience. They did not level my slabs! They were only able to pump foam underneath to **stabilize** them. I was told they would be able to raise the low side of my existing slabs and level them with each other. This did not happen at all! If they were unable to perform the job as I was told they would they should have stopped the work and left. Instead, I was charged the quoted price and the slabs actually look worse due to the terrible looking crack sealing they did (uneven level and width) and the overflow foam stains that were left behind. The slabs are in the same uneven condition. Honestly,it was a big WASTE of my money.

Where on time and cleaned up before leaving

MJ concrete was very good, and the quality of workmanship was outstanding. They showed up exactly at the time that we agreed upon, and they were done in exactly the time specified. It was a pleasure doing business with them, I would highly recommend their services to anyone.

They did a very professional job maybe I just caught the price. When the prices were up I felt 5200 for 12 x 10 was a bit steep but they did everything prepped it hauled the debris And laid the concrete so rate a 10 for me.and yes I will Recommend their business

Your choices for the service and project do not fit for me. I had a 10' by 10 ' patio that I created about 10 yrs. ago w/unique leaf- shaped pavers and a stump-looking birdbath in the middle with random stones to fill in blank places. I set it in sand that hardens when wet and it had worn away in placed making the surface dangerous to walk on. I needed the pavers to be pulled up and re-set in concrete. The work was just completed today and looks wonderful. Workers were on time, courteous, great clean-up. I would highly recommend them, This was unique project and required some creativity to complete and they delivered.

Jose was very thorough in explaining his process when he came out to do the estimate. He priced the work fairly. His team that did the work (about 1 week later) did a great job and were done very quickly. The quality of the work looks great and I will use them again should I have another relevant project come up in the future.

Actually if I could give a -5 on the customer service I would. I had a date set for sealing/repairing my patio. It was raining the day before so they wanted to reschedule, which I was flexible and I did, to the following Tuesday at 8:30am. 8:30 on Tuesday- nothing....9:30 on Tuesday- nothing...finally near 10:30 I emailed to ask what the situation was, was told by the owner/manager that the crew was doing a project in Sacramento and would call with an ETA for the afternoon. I replied that I had cleared my entire morning due to the reschedule and wouldn't be at home in the afternoon. He then has the crew call me where they informed the schedule was changed the day before, and that apparently I wasn't notified. At no point did the owner/manager even offer an apology for the lack of communication or notification (atleast his crew did) No respect for my time or schedule whatsoever. Horrible communication! horrible customer service!
