"Hi Chad, I appreciate you sharing your experience with us and others who might be considering our services. As you point out, we truly care about delivering a quality job. Sometimes, though, we make mistakes or fall short of our goals. When you informed us we did not deliver, we responded promptly and I came out to assess the situation and agreed that we missed the mark, but that it was all fixable, and we would work diligently to resolve the situation fairly, honestly, respectably, and with integrity. In your case, I believe we did just that, but your opinion clearly differs, so there are clarifications that I would like to point out: The only payment for this job has been the 10% deposit that we take for every job prior to the start, and we have not asked for any funds and clearly set the expectation that we would not expect payment until this was resolved. -We did fail to meet expectations on this job. There are touch-ups required, and we made some mistakes with paint drips on light fixtures and switches, wall paint on trim, trim paint on walls, etc. The truth is, this happens in most jobs, even for professionals, but we usually find and fix them. Unfortunately, in your case, we did not spend the time to inspect our work thoroughly, and that is on us, but your use of adjectives like? everywhere??destroy??all over?? almost every? etc. is excessive and not accurate. -I asked for the opportunity to make it right, including paying for the repairs to your new floors, but to our disappointment, you chose to have another company fix the painting issues. I warned that you may have challenges getting another painter on board quickly but honored your wishes and asked that you send us the bill for the painter as well as the quote for the flooring repairs and continued to check in regularly, hoping to avoid the frustrations I knew would build over time. It is unfortunate that you were unable to retain the services of another painter as quickly as you were hoping, but once you consented to us returning, we had someone scheduled to return within 4 days. -When you eventually consented to us returning, you also discussed that your fiancé did not like how the color you chose for the master bedroom looked in low light conditions, and you wanted us to repaint it, for which I informed there would be a charge as that was not a repair, but a change in scope and at least another day of work. This clearly upset you because your response was then targeted on the final price and what my expectations were. In my response to you, I simply stated that you chose to have another painter do the work, so the delay was beyond our control, which is a fact, but I would discount $200 off the price, plus still pay to have the floors repaired with no out-of-pocket costs to you. Your response was to not accept my offer, to which I asked what would be acceptable, and we have not heard from you since. I do not like leaving a job incomplete, nor a valued client unhappy, or even unsatisfied, with their project, so I am truly sorry that we were not able to come to an amicable resolution. Please contact me if you would like to discuss things further."
