I would have given 1/2 star but I gave them 1 only because they eventually did the work. I was given the recommendation from a friend who had a good experience so I did not do my due diligence and check reviews before hiring. I certainly wish I did- as most of these reviews attest to. I texted Keith and he immediately came out that day (though he actually forgot by the time of the appointment and then showed up after I texted him asking if he was still coming). He did arrive promptly and was responsive to the texts so I assumed the lateness was a genuine honest mistake. Then he came and gave a quote and gave a huge song and dance about how other groups would not be able to come out for months and that he could have it done next week and that was a cheap price (he quoted us $2835 for trimming a tree in front and removal of a hard to access tree and stump grinding). He also gave a hard push about signing contract in before 9 the next day (he came at 5 pm) or we would lose $300 "discount". We have been doing a lot to our new home and usually I don't go for people who push that hard because it is a scam but since my friend had a good experience and I was tired of all stuff we were already doing on the house that I just wanted to be done with this-- so I signed the contract------ And it all went downhill: 1. Keith immediately started "ghosting" me - he was unreachable. I called to try to schedule the tree removal as I work a busy job and am not always available. When he didn't respond I called the "office" and after 2 days of no one returning calls and repeated calls to them I realized that they don't have an actual office and they just have young kids who work at an answering service and the messages go nowhere. 2. I re read my contract and realized they have 30 days to do the work - AND they charge 4% additional for use of credit card. So I knew I was going to do check instead. On the contract in fine print they also state that they can just show up any time they want to (again I should have read it more closely). 3. 2 weeks go by and they have not shown up or responded to any texts, messages, calls. I then send a text to Keith letting him know that I am aware that they have 30 days to do the work and inquiring if they plan to honor contract or not and when did they plan to show up. He was very short saying that weather was an issue (okay but then call me and tell me that--- so I know) and they do plan to show up eventually 4. I then contacted a different company at the recommendation of another friend- they were wonderful. They were not able to give estimate that day but did schedule estimate and showed up and were professional. They sent me an estimate that was over $500 dollars cheaper ! They also gave 30 days to decide to go with the estimate. So I had an option in case Certified Tree Experts did not keep up their end of the bargain. 5. On day 30 they showed up (of course) unannounced as well (of course). Luckily my partner was home. They did not do the stump grinding but said they would be back later that day to do it. No one showed up. No one showed up the next day. So I contact Keith who said they may come in two days. They did not. Then I finally sent a text saying that they are past their 30 days and have not finished the work per contract and I could not pay them until it was done. Guess who showed up almost immediately? The stump grinding guy. We paid them by check. Summary Do NOT trust these guys- they lie about having the lowest prices and they lie about when they plan to do the work. They ONLY respond when you bring up the contract. It was a big reminder to me that anyone who gives you a song and dance high pressure sales tactics are just scammers and completely unprofessional. I would never ever recommend...

I have used other tree services but this was the best by and means of measurement. The estimator was very fair and gave me every possible discount. The fireman was very easy to work with and so flexible and personable. The crew was extremely efficient. The cleanup was so thorough one couldnâ  t tell tree work was even done. I would without reservation recommend Certified Tree Experts!

Certified Tree Experts were knowledgeable, price competitive, and hard working. They were quick to respond with both an initial quote, and then to execute the job timely. The quality of work was superb and they are very courteous so I would use them again for sure!

Very prompt, a job well done. HORRIBLE communication (or lack thereof). After requesting a quote, a man randomly appeared at my residence the next day with zero notice. He assessed the property and indicated the foreman would call to schedule or notify me of when they would do the work. Next morning, an entire crew of men is outside waiting to do the work with zero notice given. Several calls had to be rescheduled due to the obvious noise. They did a great job removing 2 trees that were hanging over my and my neighbors house. Afterwards, I was asked if I wanted to pay now or after the stump removal man had completed his work later that day. I opted for later. No less than 3 minutes later I was contacted by their tree dispatch regarding unwillingness to pay the bill despite having the job completed. The friendly man I had just spoken to moments ago made no mention of such an issue..but alas, I wrote a check and was informed the stump man would be several days later. I was unclear on pricing because the original quote included several discounts that were not disclosed to me. Nor were they shown on the actual quote itself. This led me to believe the cost would be a few 100 less. Whatever. It is comical at this point. Naturally the stump man showed up 12 hours later (a whole 3 days early from the original quote) , did a great job and off he went. Again, great tree cutting and removal services. Just do not expect to know anything until the tree hits the ground
