Popcorn Acoustic Ceiling Texture Application, Repair or Removal

We hired Chamblins Home Construction to remove the popcorn texture from 2 ceilings rooms. Not only did the project hit a speedbump ( a family emergency put the project on hold for 3 weeks), but when they were finally able to make it, they tried to complete the project in 1 day. He did have to come back another day to put a skim coat on the dining room. The ceiling looked terrible when they finished. Not only did they not remove the texture on most of the family room, but they had gouged the underlying drywall. When questioned, they insisted that a couple of coats of paint would cover up any additional texture. We have since had to hire another contractor to fix what Chamblins did.
