    Champion Waterproofing came to water proof my basement in 2017. In Aug., 2021 there was a heavy rain and water came in thru holes in the concrete a around the window and collected on the floor. The next day I called this co. to report it. They kept telling me they were short on staff and no one came until Nov. of 2021. A young man came, and he said repairing the holes in the concrete was not on the work order, but he said he would seal around the window and try to correct a problem in the garage with water collecting. He said it was not done right in the 1st place. Right after he left I flushed a commode & the could not get any water from the faucets. I could hear water running profusely thru a pipe in the basement. I called him on his cell phone to repeat this, but no answer but I left a msg. I called the co. the receptionist said he would text him. I still never heard anything. I called the emer. line for the water co. to see if there was a community problem, but was told there was not. I have had leg injuries and surgeries, use a cane, but went down and up the steps for what seemed like a dozen times or more to see if I could see what was wrong, but I could not. Every time I had flush a commode, this would happen, little or no water from faucets & the loud noise of water running thru a pipe. It did this off ; on some hours on Sun. night & it was frightening. I had a lot of pain i my legs from making the steps so much due to injuries. A plumber came Mon. morn. said the valve for the water line was partially shut off. I have no idea why this man would touch that valve, but he had to as the prob. started right after he left. I tried numerous times to speak to the owner Howard Alexander as I thought he should know about this, but he never returned my calls. It seems the usual procedure should be for a technician or someone in the co. to get back to a person re. serious problems to try get them solved. It is a comfort to feel a co. really cares about customers, but this one does not.

    I contacted Champion waterproofing to fix what I was convinced was a major problem. Their representative. Arrived on time, was courteous and highly knowledgeable. We showed him our concerns. He was very transparent in his evaluation process and took the time to teach us all the aspects of the issues we had observed. He explained how we were misinterpreting our observation and why our foundation was in good shape and did not need any attention. He also took the time to explain the source of our concerns and provide us with recommendations of some yard drainage corrections that would resolve our concerns. These were services that his company does not provide. His competitor, who had given us and an estimate days before, had us convinced that we needed more than $20,000 worth of repairs.

    I met with Howard Alexander on 7/28/19 to discuss having Champion Waterproofing install an interior French drain in my basement. After talking for about an hour he gave me a quote for the work which I felt was fair. A couple days after our talk, I realized I wanted to include a battery backup system for power outages so I called the Champion office and spoke to a gentleman who said he would let Howard know I called and that I wanted the battery backup option included in my quote. The actual drain with a sump pump was installed on 9/13/19 without the battery backup. I spoke with the office on Monday 9/16 and was informed that a Service Technician would be coming to my house on Tuesday 9/17 to install the battery backup system. The system was installed on Tuesday and I got a call from the office to arrange for payment of all services. I asked what the cost of the battery backup was and was alarmed at the price. I should have asked what the price was up front but I did not so I take the blame in that area. After the learning the price I expressed my disappointment of not being told the price before installation. I also mentioned that the pump is located in a small closet and the wires from it and the battery backup system were run under the closet door out into the game room. To put it mildly, I was not satisfied. John, the office manager at Champion, called me back a couple hours later and apologized about the miscommunication and told me that if acceptable to me, he would split the cost of the battery backup system as well as have an electrician come over and install a new wall outlet in the closet where the sump pump is located. I felt that this was an outstanding display of customer service and thanked him for these efforts. I am happy to report that so far everything is functioning properly and I am certainly satisfied with the outcome. I would not hesitate to recommend Champion to anyone in need of these services. Miscommunications can happen to anyone, it is how these issues are handled that set the best companies apart from their competition and the folks at Champion were eager to ensure my experience with them was ultimately the best that it could be.

    Great service from start to finish. Two crews came that day at 7am and completed the inside french drain along with the liner wall install in half of day. Hard workers, did a great job!
