Donâ t Do It! You get less than you pay for, For my family and me we were looking for a good construction deck builder who could get in and get the job done and roll out in a timely manner. As I was looking, I came across CR, headed by Robert, who wanted to be called Bob, I shared our Deck project and Bob assured us the deck was no problem along with a small fireplace stone wall inside which he could complete the entire project in 2 weeks or so, We wereI happy to hear this, Bob who is approaching 70, started out with a number of what seemed to be simi-skilled craftsmen, but they were always changing, never a consistent crew, Bob and crew start late and always leaving early, never did a full 8 hour shift, 6 weeks after Bob had not completed the project, and had let all of the help go, and was trying to complete the work himself, now Bob required so much down and On paper said we had time for 2 additional payments as the project progressed. However before one nail was installed on the project Bob was requesting more money within the week, and more and more, I had paid the initial project in full before I knew it and now one nail, a big mistake as right away Bob and the crew were no show for days and eventually Bob was the only showing for an hour or two here and there, we spoke to him many times about it and informed him that we needed him to complete the project a certain date, but his actions indicated he didnâ t care about our daughter graduating event approaching now 7 weeks later, I had to let Bob go with the projects incomplete; he wasnâ t accomplishing anything. We found Bob was not following our instructions of what we needed, but doing what he wanted. The supplies for the project were subpar and lumber had many big cracks and he wasnâ t planning to add bolts to handrail, and had screws where bolts should have been, now we are finishing a project that Robert of Chicago Renovators was paid to do, yet didnâ t because Bob is not the guy for major projects. Sham operations, full of lies, and promises.

Hired to demo an existing deck and build new. The project took well over 3 months to complete. Some of the delay was due to the amount of rain that we had but much of it was related to the fact there was no one to do the work. Much of the work had to be done and done again because it wasn't completed correctly the first time. The final result looks nice but screws were left all over in the gaps between boards. Hoping the end product was constructed well enough to last.

Quality work Project was underestimated for time

Hired Chicago Renovators for a basement remodel. They did a great job on all parts of the project and were extremely competitive in the pricing aspect.

Bob responded to my initial request and was available to give a quote within the hour. He understood what I was wanting for my deck replacement, and he delivered on everything that he promised. It took a little while to complete the project; however, there weren't any deadlines that I needed to meet. The finished product was well worth the wait!! Bob kept me in the loop as to what was happening and the adjustments that needed to be made. I was very pleased with the finishing touches and routing of the deck. He also went above and beyond and removed the debris from the old decking -- totally not expected since we didn't discuss that as part of the project. I would happily do business with him again.

Good price, done quickly, kept me informed, would highly recommend.

They have good craftsmanship. They care about their work and they did good.

He has great workers. He is very informant on what is going on. He is just a great guy all around. I was very happy with all that he had done.

These guys came in and did an excellent job they were very responsive and kept me informed. I would recommend them and plan on hiring them again next summer to rebuild my deck.

Doesn't meet dates or commitments. Makes major errors when laying out and building the project. Doesn't follow codes very well at all. Did not check grades before stating to see what the elevation needs to be to keep water out of the garage. Concrete work is not acceptable but will not sub out professionals to do the work correctly. He puts some sort of product over the poor job he has done on the concrete floor to hide the flaws. He leaves the job site a mess. They do not clean up the mess until you ask them to. Then it is at best a poor effort. He leaves the earth work up to the homeowner to restore what he has torn up. Doesn't allow for drainage or elevations prior to construction start and at the end of the project. He doesn't listen to the client and will do just what he wants to do. Then you have to pay someone to tear out and you then have to pay to have what you wanted done by someone else. This project took almost 7 months and should of only took 6 to 8 weeks. When he finally decided he would not fix the things he messed up including a punch list of items left unfinished, and left part of the last draw to call it even.

I didn’t end up using anyone for the work required just yet but Bob was extremely helpful and honest about the work required. This property is a rehab so I have some rehabbers looking to purchase it and is he reason I didn’t hire Bob to complete the pending work

It was fine

Left huge mess and some damaged property. Cost and timeline overages throughout. Delays and extra work due to improper installation were handled slowly and poorly.

After 5 months garage could not pass city inspection. Had to hire 4 other contractors to get the job done correctly. Had front porch added on it only 5 tries to get it done correctly, but gutters still leak onto steps. Needed to hire concrete company, electrical company, and generator company to correct other issues. Trim on window still not right, caulking is a mess, and back yard now floods. Replaced screen door and was placed on backwards Robert said no it wasn't. Porch from kitchen to gagrage have to step down, not the way we wanted it but Robert put it on like he wanted it to be. Never seen the same people on the job and Robert copped and attitude when you confronted him on any issues.

Had Bob and his company build a garage for me a simple 24x24 garage. Very accommodating on what was needed. But no plans were given. City had to use my drawing his was lacking. It seemed like the Carpenter winging the build. Had him come back 5 times to fix problems then he caught an attitude. Brought in another car They all left a big mess never cleaned up still trying to clean up after them. No landscaping to return the grounds back to some what normal. And tons of over outrageous cost overages never filled in the ground after running electric lines. Some of the sub contractors where good.

Bob completed the project as agreed in the time agreed.

iBob Barthel is knowledgeable in my garage build. he's approachable and ready to field any questions or concerns. As soon as the garage and landscaping is completed, I'll reenter another rating regarding the quality of work performed. So far...I'm pleased!

Projex - RHB took their time and did the remodel beautifully. The workers that worked on the remodels were courteous and knowledgable. I asked for a few tweaks along the way, and Bob was accomodating. When I had questions or concerns, he would answer them right away. Absolutely appreciate the companies care and work!! If ever I need more remodeling projects done, and I know I have a few more down the road, I will definitely be calling Projex - RHB.

finished work looks good. some problems with work site condition and some slight property damages.

Bathroom looks great. Took a long time though. Bob said the Marble walls for the shower was back ordered.

Projex, Inc are very reliable and great to work with. They did an excellent job and we could not be happier with the results. They will be the only call we make for our next project.

Project was finished when promised even though Mother Nature tried to slow him down with a few heavy down pours. I am very pleased with the outcome.
