BUYER BEWARE! Ripped me off for $500 then ghosted me. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH GARY OR DERBY CITY! Mediocre upholstery work to top it off.

Gary Clark kept my $400 deposit and I never saw my grandfather's chair again after giving it to him to reupholster . He dodged my calls and lied to me consistently. Go elsewhere! This guy will cheat and scam you!

I am in medical field and we know the significance of reviews. I am a very tolerant person and rather than writing a bad review and slandering a business, I just move on but in this case and seeing this repetitive behavior, I think it is about time we review the Derby City Upholstery and save other community members from making the same mistakes as we did. We have worked with this guy in the past by letting him reupholster couple of our medical exam tables including covers for our home patio furniture. Even though we were not happy with his work, we decided to give him another chance, this time reupholstering the 30 chairs at our medical office to which he agreed and took close to $3000 as a deposit for the job. For several months (over 4 months) he kept making excuses, so we were really got worried we will never see the deposit back but some how, we MANAGED to (did not feel necessary reviewing him back than, should have though) Since he sounded like a nice guy, I gave him another chance (shame on me) by having him re work the patio covers he made, (stitchings started coming apart) and to make a custom cover for the recently bought treadmill, to which he agreed and took the covers along with the 2 cushions. Once again it has been several months and I am still waiting to hear back from him and he does not answers his phone calls either. If I had other options, I would have have never used this guy but unfortunately, there are not many reupholstering options out there. He seems like a nice guy, so he gets the job but considering how expensive he is, his work is so so, definitely not worth what he charges. Since it seems like a repetitive pattern, i decided to write this review. Wonder why he has not returned my calls and 3 months later, why he still has not brought my covers/cushions back yet. Seeing how his shop responds to his reviews, would love to see what he has to say here ( where are my cushions and the covers)? I will be filing a complaint with BBB as well Please be careful dealing with this guy.

Kept our couches for 4 months. Purposely avoided our calls. Had to take to court to get couch back. We are moving now and just realized they upholstered over old upholstery. Reason for hiring him was because previous owner of couches had cats and my wife has bad allergies. Complete waste of money. Just curious where all positive reviews came from. There used to be quite a few bad ones for good reasons that are now gone.

GARY CLARK IS A SHYSTER, SCAMMER DOES HORRIBLE WORK!!! He upholstered my car headliner in January 2023, and it has been a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE for months. First, he said it would take 1.5 hours to complete, it took over 3 hours and I waited the whole 3 hours. I could tell immediately it was not good quality work as it had dimples in it and Gary said they would smooth out over time which it has not . Then he did not re-install the 2 small lights in the headliner correctly nor did he re-install the small, round disks near the back window so there were these perfectly round divots that did not look right. He made an appointment with me 6 different times to come to my work to make repairs and NEVER showed up nor called to cancel. Then when he did show up he only fixed 1 of the 2 headliner lights, and he had to come out a 2nd time, even though I told him ahead of time both were not installed correctly. When he repaired the passenger light he did not reconnect the wires, so I had to take it to mechanic to have it repaired. I know he did this on purpose! Then he had to come out another time to install those missing plastic round discs and only agreed to install them after I asked questioned him about it? He also put 2 dents on the roof of my car from the inside so whatever tools he used caused these 2 dents, and it is very evident the damage was caused from the inside of the car. Now the headliner is coming unglued, falling down, and he refuses to honor the 1 year warranty. At this point, I do not want him to touch my car ever again!!! I WANT A FULL REFUND SO I CAN GO TO A REPUTABLE UPHOLSTERY COMPANY!!

I contacted Mr. Clark to commission a motorcycle seat to be upholstered. The seat was worn out and looked horrible. Gary quickly responded with a quote and a drop off time, along with a time line of when it would be finished. He was so polite at drop off and listened to what we wanted. Gary was finished with the job before his projected finish date. The seat looked amazing! He matched all of the material perfectly and the seat lookes brand new. I am extremely satisfied with his work and his customer service. We will be getting our boat done next and I wouldn't go to anyone other than Gary Clark!

Gary Clark was so prompt getting to us and did the job fast and very professional as was his assistant. We had 3 sofa cushions worked on and are very pleased with the outcome. We would recommend him to anyone. Very friendly and outgoing.

Gary Clark was very responsive to my inquiry, and got the job done early. I would not hesitate to hire him again. He upholstered 7 kitchen chairs, repairing one (wobbly).

We dropped off a love seat that needed to be reupholstered. He was very helpful with questions. He also helped us pick out the color of the fabric. The job was completed in a VERY timely matter. He went above and beyond! He made repairs to the legs and delivered them to our home. I was very pleased and would highly recommend Gary.

When we started this project he was very nice, very professional and then he turned very unprofessional, at this moment I am not satisfied.

I had a chaise lounge chair reupholstered. Gary was professional and prompt. Chair is like new. I would highly recommend Derby City.

Gary does great work, he has done over 100 chairs for me, each has been done great and was just absolutely perfect!
