I found Classic Construction Group through HomeAdvisor. German Ruiz, the owner, promised excellent work at a price little higher than market. He promised that all his subcontractors were going to be licensed. I should have known something was wrong when he presented a single page contract. None of his subcontractors were licensed. He used the cheapest material despite products defined and agreed to in the architectural drawings and contract. His crew was learning on the job--lacked basic craftsmanship. He also kept extorting us to pay or else he would not finish the job. We ended up firing him and hiring another group to fix his many mistakes. He still sent us a his full bill and demanded that we pay. I've worked with many contractors on different homes. He was by far the worst experience I've had.

"Michael, we did not work on your job and I’m sorry that you feel upset or slighted by our decision to pass on your project. Since you did not want to pull permits with the town, you wanted German to hide the dumpster and materials so town inspectors would not see your construction. We are fully licensed and insured - as such, we always pull permits to comply with town requirements. Our crews have worked with us for over 25 years - the SAME craftsman and tradesmen. They are pros so I know you must have us confused. Good luck."

German Ruiz with Classic Construction from start to finish provided top notch service. He and his crew were very responsive, incredibly communicative, and respectful. They left the home cleaned up and dust free. It was a pleasure to work with them.
