Reviews
Write a ReviewI contracted Classic Exteriors to redo a botched job that another contractor completed to replace my front porch boards. The work Classic Exteriors did was okay. The porch is in so much better shape in terms of structural integrity and waterproofing. But the lack of attention to detail looks sloppy and unprofessional, like a warping board causing the corner boards to be out of alignment. One of the owners has repeatedly brushed aside my feedback about the detail explaining that the boards will contract, causing gaps, but since they designed the configuration that they installed with the materials they recommended, I expect them to know enough not to create a border frame that will have a gap as the boards expand and contract throughout the day. The same owner also brushed aside my feedback about the boards being uneven explaining that the work they did was exterior carpentry as opposed to interior, detailed carpentry, but you can clearly see from the photos that some of the boards simply are not cut at right angles, giving the edge a snaggletooth appearance. He also tried to explain this with some story about joist adjustments causing the boards to twist, but I havenot been able to find any evidence online that this is a real thing. That same owner of the company stopped by at one point while my porch was ripped up to get me to pay an additional 10% to do some structural work, in spite of person who quoted the work having inspected the structure from my basement. He threw the person who quoted the work under the bus completely, which itself was uncomfortably unprofessional. I was fine paying whatever was due to make sure the porch was structurally sound, but having this conversation while my porch was ripped up and basically insulting the work of the person who quoted the job originally was poorly-timed and anxiety-inducing. I had high hopes for Classic Exteriors because their sales process was great. The person with whom I worked to estimate the job was compassionate and very helpful, especially in the face of the stressful situation with the prior contractor who had botched the job. The owner told me, though, that I would have had to have paid double to get the attention to detail I expected. So I suppose next time I will find a company that will provide me with a quote to do attractive, detailed work initially rather than assuming that I only want to pay for unattractive work.
We had Classic Exteriors build a composite deck with custom rebar railing. Pete and BJ did a superior job, were very willing to make small adjustments to make us happy. I will call these guys again for the next project. Thanks guys!
Thanks Jamie. We hope you and David enjoy your new deck this spring!
We've used this company multiple times for different projects and have been completely satisfied with their work every time!
Thanks Kathleen! It has been a pleasure working on each project.
Definitely a very qualified installer for my new garage door, however, expect a 90 day lead time for installation.
C I did a wonderful job installing a new front door and storm door for us. Both doors were top quality and the installers were quick and did a great clean up. Door function and seal were perfect. We have lived in several houses over the years and there is always work to be done but I don't think I have worked with a better outfit, from sales to installation, than CI. Thanks guys!
We were pleased with the door quality and installation quality. The installers were responsive to our observations of what needed to be done, and the caulk job was masterful.
Class act
We also had an awning installed, window work and down spouts replaced. Every crew that was sent was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Sales staff was also knowledgeable, friendly, and no hard selling. It was a very positive experience. I highly recommend them and won't hesitate to use them again.
Victor and Steve removed my 36 year old deck and replaced it with a new composite deck. These gentlemen were very professional, precise and polite in the work they performed and I was very pleased with the finished product. Not only were they very skilled but also made sure to take care of any concerns I brought to their attention. They also were very neat and made sure everything was cleaned up before leaving. I would not hesitate calling on them for any remodeling job I may have in the future.
