Landscape Yard or Garden Installation
Do not return calls or show up do not honor warranty or work finding a new customer is easier than taking care of an existing customer

We contacted Clearfork about adding several beds and plantings for those beds, it took numerous calls to finally get them to come out. We worked with the landscaper and selected numerous plants and small trees for the job. We had to pay a deposit upfront and as before took many calls to finally get them to come out to plant. When they arrived they had many incorrect plants but said they would plant what they had and replace it in the Fall with what we ordered, and there was a 1-year warranty on all plants. We contacted them this Fall and someone came out to see the plants and said they would work up what needed to be replaced, despite taking great care of the plants several died. We assumed that these would be covered by the warranty but were then sent a quote for over $1,500 for plant replacement. Even with the incorrect plants, we were told that because we accepted the plants we must have been happy with them. When I called to ask about the warranty the owner said that there are a lot of variables outside their control and that there was not a warranty as was originally described. We also had them put mulch down last Spring, again scheduling was a challenge, they had to make multiple trips to get mulch and in the end, had grossly underestimated, and to complete the job required an additional $1,600. I would advise anyone considering Clearfork to look elsewhere, many ethical companies show up on time, plant what was agreed upon, and honor their warranty.
Response from Clearfork Lawn Care
"Clearfork Lawn Care had an excellent experience with this customer. We have done several jobs with them and they have been happy each time. They asked for plants to be replaced that were not covered by our documented warranty, therefore they were sent a quote for their replacement. The customer was, justifiably, upset, but the document clearly outlines the warranty and how we will hand replacements."

I like Clearfork Lawn Care but I do not like the turf portion of service I received. Getting together with the project manager was difficult. When finally we did get together I felt good about what we were going to do. Install Turf, remove dead plants and replace plants, shrubs and others that had died from the freeze. I have dogs and it was suggested to put river rocks in a large section as ground cover. My concern was that the the rocks would not be safe for my dogs. I was told that the rocks would not be a problem because of there size. The rocks were were between 45 inches in diameter, EXTREMELY dangerous! The dogs paws could fall between the rocks. I made it easy for them, I had areas in the front where the rocks could be moved to make a zero scape, with some additional plants. I purchased Jasmine to go where the rocks were in the back. The front had to be redone several times, One time was the fault of the city. There was no planning or thought when they put the rocks down. The sprinkler system was covered up and had to be repaired. Sprinkler heads had to be found to take care of the plants. They cracked 2 sprinkler pipes, they were not careful, The fellow that came out to fix the cracked pipes was great. He also had to install new sprinklers because the people who installed the turf covered up all the sprinkler heads, I asked everyday and pointed out the sprinklers that needed we needed. I asked the how do you know where they are? Well they blocked them and covered them up so a new system had to be installed. They had to come out several times to secure the turf, it was just loose and not at all secured in several locations. The fill they used under the turf ran into the flower beds next to the turf, very sloppy. And to top it off they did not get it level it with the ground near a gate which now does not open. They want to lift the gate. The gate is between two brick fence/walls. And they want me to pay for it. I have talked to them several times to fix this and I am told someone will get back to you. To this day no one has addressed this issue. They sent me an invoice for a pipe they broke when planting. On the bright side they have fixed whatever problems did arise except the turf in front of the gate. I would like to see what the landscaping is going to look like before it is done. I had to look up the plants they suggested. This has been a learning experience for me. I would not use them to install turf. To date as of July 12 my turf has not been addressed. I would recommend this company with the exception of turf service that I do not recommend.
Response from Clearfork Lawn Care

Knowledgeable and professional. Did excellent work and left no debris behind after installing trench drains, topsoil, and sod. A little more expensive than a couple of others, but their experience and quality of work more than equals the difference in price.

Max came out and took care of me. He was fantastic! I cannot recommend him enough. They were out here the following day at 10, and have me taken care of quickly and effectively. I would call them and Max again to take care of me in the future.

I do not like your asking me to take my time, without pay, to assist your company.

I wish you could see the photos representing the service provided by Clearfork and described by the employees on-site as "our standard." There were several 2 X 2ft spots where the grass was scalped down to the dirt. Cut grass was laying on the surface of the majority of the lawn. There was at least a yard waste bag full left on the lawn. Some cut grass made it to the street where it was left. There was a broken sprinkler head. I was not notified that it was broken. If I had not noticed it, there would be a geyser when the sprinkler went on the next morning - at 5 AM. The employees left 8 inches to a foot uncut next to my neighbor's driveway in a section between our two driveways. When I spoke with Ian Biggs, Clearfork's owner, he told me, "That is the neighbor's yard." I don't know how he determined that (I asked if he had a survey, but he did not answer). That entire section had been mowed on past visits. In addition, he had other things to do and could not come out to investigate for himself or supervise his crew at least cleaning up the piles of grass laying around the yard. I don't not believe, this is an isolated incident. In fact, I asked last week to have no services performed without the service providers notifying me (ring the bell) and get a response from me, so that we can get agreement on the services and how they will be performed. They did not abide by my request even though Ian acknowledged receiving it. As you can imagine, I terminated the (unsigned) agreement with Clearfork. Ian is a pleasant person and appears to be starting the Lawn Care business, so I stayed with Clearfork longer than I should have. I wish him the best in business, but not on my property.

It was inspiring to see three young men work so hard for so long. They were very professional and cleaned up the areas and carried off debris as they said they would. I highly recommend them.

The guy was courteous, and he educated me a little about my lawn. However, he did not complete the job ... I requested mowing, with grass and leaf cleanup. He just mowed ... left the rest.
