Excellent workmanship

We did a great deal of research on fence construction in general and local fence companies. Our goal was to find a company that could build a high quality 8 foot privacy fence. I put Ron to the test and asked several detailed questions and set forth requirements in getting an estimate. Ron simply was great! He addressed each item line by line in a professional and detailed manner. The Coast Construction crew was prompt, courteous, and worked with an obvious sense of pride. We highly recommend Coast Construction Services!

Ron was very professional right from the moment I reached out for and original estimate just looking for an idea of cost... in fact he was the only company that got back to me and gave me an idea of costs (which is what I asked for) without making a point of having to come out and visit the site. Right from that moment he had my attention. Once we finalized the house purchase Ron then came out and did an official estimate. When Ron and his crew... Joe and Chris showed up to actually do the job the professionalism continued. They were also very adaptive to my requests and small changes as the project progressed. Needless to say I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND these guys. They did a great job. My wife and I are very happy with the end results and not only that but when things were all said and done... My final bill was within pocket change of what he had quoted me originally.... Bottom-line a great hire.

We hired Coast Construction Services to complete our wood fence project. They were the highest of the 5 quotes received (backside of fence connecting to neighbors and front sides, so not a huge job at all) and we went with their company because Ron seemed to be professional, prompt in responding to my questions, and knowledgeable. During the construction of our project, I had a few red flags that I should have paid more attention to such as gaps in the front of the house when I requested the fence to be flush with the sides he stated that our specific fencing style had to have gaps. This was corrected when I showed a picture of the same fence style (including our neighbors) flush with the sides of their house. I also asked before starting would the wood used be new and even (based on photos I saw on this site) and I was assured it would. I understand that wood ages, however, we have multiple neighbors with unsealed fencing older than ours completed by the company we should have gone with, that is still nicely colored and even with good quality slats. Our fence has splintering, uneven slats, some are even turning blackish. They are crooked, uneven, and some are even warping forward. Our front gate stopped opening properly and Ron came out and adjusted it for us. I contacted Ron again upon noticing some of the wood slats looking off and upon closer inspection noticed all of the above issues mentioned. He brushed it off and said the board discolors differently depending on how much sun they get and to seal. So out of the slats along the back connecting fence and front sides we had completed, which ALL face the same direction mind you. Only some are turning an ugly blackish color. Aside from that, does the sun also explain the warping, bulging, and crooked slats. They are using subpar materials and our fence is not properly installed on top of that. I gave him a chance to make it right by contacting him first with our issues, and here I am. If anyone is considering using this company PLEASE make sure your wood is in good shape (and NEW) ask where it is coming from and look VERY closely upon them finishing the service. Do not make the mistake we did in assuming their quality matches up with pricing without very close inspection before paying. My suggestion would be to find a better company altogether. I have photos available for anyone who would like to see them! (stars are my first name in this review) I will happily send them so you can judge for yourself. EDITED IN RESPONSE TO OWNER, AFTER THEM COMING OUT AGAIN. Ron showed up after my review and replaced 7 boards along the back fence which did not even account for all of the crooked/warped boards. The boards he just put up are LONGER than the rest of the existing ones even though he came with a saw I am guessing he forgot his ruler. The warped boards in the front of the house were not fixed and the other side of the house still has the same issues. I love how he tried to place fault on us as customers for his shoddy work in his response though - very classy. Not sure what we could possibly do to a fence that would render the results we received but what can I say? Cannot expect everyone pricing to match their work. AVOID this guy like the plague. Taking our next steps as I type - many of our neighbors went with a company that does amazing work with high-quality materials for much LESS so please research much more than we did initially prior to hiring! Again- we have tons of pictures upon request.

Great company to hire for your work top notch workmenship

In spite of delays due to Coronavirus, we connected with Ron Smith & crew in early June and Coast Construction Services was able to start right after 4th of July. Ron was professional and courteous, they finished quickly and his final bill was right at estimate.
