When it comes to home repairs and renovations, trust is paramount. When you invite someone into your home to fix damages, you expect professionalism, honesty, and timely completion of work. Unfortunately, my experience with Michael Lampro, representing Coastal Adjustment Group LLC and F & M Peak Point Exteriors and Renovations LLC, has been anything but trustworthy. The journey began on April 26, 2024, when AllState Insurance referred Coastal Adjustment Group LLC to me for water damage repairs. The initial conversation with Michael Lampro was promising. He eagerly picked up his phone, assured me of his capabilities, and convinced me that the job would be handled with the utmost professionalism. Feeling reassured, I paid him a $1,000 deductible to start the work, which involved painting four walls in a downstairs home office, sealing the roof with sheetrock, and replacing the damaged carpet with floor tiles. We agreed on upgrading the flooring to "The Claybore" tiles at $4.29 per square foot from Floor & Decor, requiring an additional $1,500 paid on May 15, 2024. Despite the smooth start, things quickly took a turn for the worse. On May 30, 2024, Michael informed me that he and his crew contracted COVID-19 but assured me that they would resume work the following week. I expressed my condolences and support, understanding the circumstances. However, on June 3, 2024, while I was out of state, I inquired about the progress and received a text from Michael stating, "Crew is there today tearing out the rug... tomorrow we will scrap the floor to get all the glue off the floor and then we will start painting." This seemed promising, but it was just the beginning of a series of misleading updates. On June 7, 2024, I reached out again for an update and was told via text, "Yes! We are in the middle of scrapping the concrete floors... the carpet was really glued down." From June 11, 2024, Michael started avoiding my calls, responding only with excuses like being in a Zoom class. After multiple texts, he finally informed me on June 17, 2024, that a supplement was sent to AllState for additional work due to the excessive glue on the floor. He assured me that the new flooring would be available for pickup on June 20, 2024, and the job would be completed by June 24, 2024. June 24, 2024, came and went with no progress. When I inquired, Michael responded, "Yes!! Finally... just got the call 10 minutes ago... I will get a crew there in the next 48 hrs." On June 28, 2024, he claimed that painting was ongoing and the floor had arrived. However, this was another false promise. On July 1, 2024, AllState informed me that Michael had told them my tenant was away on holiday until July 11, which was a blatant lie. My tenant was only away for a weekend, and we had a property manager who could have facilitated access. This lie was an attempt to extend the timeline further. After confronting Michael about the lie, he backtracked and promised the crew would come on July 8, 2024. The crew showed up that day, but only completed the painting. No flooring was installed. On July 9 and 10, 2024, I received no responses regarding the flooring installation. Finally, on July 10, 2024, Michael texted, "Waiting on the installers' schedule... I will keep you updated as soon as I know." His lack of communication and constant delays were causing significant financial damage and inconvenience to my tenant, who used the space for work. When I pressed Michael further, he deflected, claiming that the funds for the job were still with AllState , implying that without payment, he felt justified in delaying the work. This statement was misleading since it is standard protocol for insurance companies to pay after job completion. My experience with Michael Lampro and Coastal Adjustment Group LLC has been nothing short of a nigh...
