Stephen and his crew were professional and respectful while working on the job. The quality of the work was excellent and because of the neat, concise job performed, I hired them to do another project back to back. While the work took longer than expected, the quality outweighed the time. Stephen CArlson is integrity driven as is his crew. They are quite responsive to requests and explain any necessary changes if an issue arises as well as offering solutions. I would hire again and highly recommend Coastal.

They went the extra mile and when they found a problem with the plumbing they fixed it instead of ignoring it. They always cleaned up after each day of working. These guys came and worked without even a break - and their work is without error! I can't say enough about them - I would highly recommend them to anyone if they are looking for help with a remodel or repair.

If you're looking for a professional contractor who will treat your job like he would one for his own home - look no further (seriously) - Stephen Carlson was great to work with. We thought it would be difficult managing a bathroom remodel from out-of-state, but Stephen was incredibly responsive to texts, emails and phone calls. The finished master bathroom project - this is for all those hooked on HGTV - is absolutely HGTV worthy. Craftsmanship is top notch and this coming from my husband who has done all our home remodeling from plumbing, electrical, drywall etc. - he was very impressed with Stephen and his crew (Ryan and Jake). Stephen Carlson and his crew are some of the most professional individuals that I've had the honor to work with. We moved across country and bought a foreclosed property sight unseen. I had numerous difficulties with the original contractor that was hired and ended up not going with that individual. Mr. Carlson accepted the job although his schedule was already full. He made time for us. This house needed absolutely everything, from HVAC, wall repairs, new windows, paint, and appliances. Mr. Carlson quickly devised a plan to tackle each project in a manner that would be conducive to everyone's timeline. As work began on this house, more issues arose which ended up resulting in a complete remodel of the upstairs. All the walls needed replacement due to moisture build up which led to mold. Steven made the proper adjustments to the contract which allowed the work to stay within our family budget. Every time an issue arose, Steven gave us multiple options on how it could be handled and left the decision up to us. We never felt pressured to choose one decision over another. Stevens vast about of staff that he relies upon are also very professional and genially care about the quality of work that is going into your home. So much to the extent that if we were having any issues after hours, they would take time to come out and fix whatever issue was going on just to make sure that we were comfortable. (Thanks Sam!) They are also very trust worthy and would ensure that all precious items were kept safe. For example, I left my wedding set on a window seal and they ensured that it was placed in a safer location and sent me a picture notifying me of where they were placed. (Thanks Ryan) Stephen was also very thorough about the quality of work being done. He conducted numerous quality assurance inspections to make sure that all work met his high standards. Although the original contract has now been completed, there are numerous other things that I would like to have worked on and I will defiantly be contacting Mr. Carlson again. The subs that Steve Carlson hired did an amazing job. The work is beautiful. Working with Steve Carlson, the GC, was a nightmare. From exceeding the statement of work by demolishing my living room and dining room walls and ceilings to the studs without authorizing to bullying us into postdating a change order to cover his actions it's been a terrible roller coaster. This project has been a nightmare. When Mr Carlson does not get the answers he demands he holds the project hostage by walking off the job. He did this twice delaying our project 3 weeks. During the final tantrum, he cancelled final electrical inspection by the city but fully expected to get paid the final amount due. His bullying behavior amplified to the point where I had to call the police to get him to leave the property after 3 vehement requests. I was along in Biloxi at the time. He also failed to tell us that the property was not inhabitable when we were 1 hour from the house after 23 hours of driving from Denver with children. He was well aware we had planned the trip and when we were to arrive. He refused to work with me and consistently went to my husband or the bank to override my decisions. In the end, we were forced to fire him as he refused to schedule the final inspection and get a certificate of occupancy. We are now seeking a new GC to get final inspections and punch list completed. This has been one of the most shockingly unprofessional individuals I've ever worked with. When he says, he takes care of your house like it's his own.... he's not kidding. He really thinks his decisions override the owners....

Mr. Carlson first helped me out by delivering a load of sand for my son's sandbox while I was 8 1/2 months pregnant in June. When we needed our fence repaired and a new fence added to it, we knew exactly who to call. They worked quickly and I couldn't be any happier with my fence. My boys love it and we all feel so much safer in our backyard! Our fence is better quality than any others in the area! He definitely knows what he is doing!!

Our bathrooms were an embarrassing mess. We called Stephen with a pretty weak idea of what we wanted to do to one of them as sort of a small step toward someday having two bathrooms that weren't horrible. It took him about 5 minutes to see all of the problems that we had and recommend a much grander plan to solve everything. It involved demolishing both bathrooms, jackhammering the slab, completely reconfiguring both rooms, taking some space from an oversized dining room to increase bathroom size. Oh and while we're at it, let's take out the load bearing wall between the dining room and the living room, to form a great room. Simple, right? Well, not simple. But in the end a lot less painful than you would imagine. And the result is absolutely stunning. Both bathrooms were rebuilt from the ground up. Beautiful new tile and fixtures throughout. The master bathroom is literally three times the size of the original. We have a huge open wet area with an amazing shower and a whirlpool bathtub. What used to be an oddly shaped living room (12 x 16) and an oversized dining room (12 x 21), have now become an enormous 25 x 16 great room. It really is like living in a new house. There are only two spare bedrooms that were not somehow improved by this renovation. Stephen did a great job of managing the process. During the eight weeks it took to complete the work, Stephen was a constant presence in out home. He's very big on taking responsibility for the quality of his work and that of his subcontractors. His attention to detail and vision of the way things can be is invaluable. We would never have arrived where we are without him. We would not hesitate to call Stephen again, and we will recommend him to anyone who needs quality home repairs and renovation. ** Follow up note: The whirlpool tub had a loose fitting (installed by the manufacturer) which resulted in a leak under the tub. When I mentioned this to Stephen (after the job was completely done, and he had moved on to his next), he came out on a Sunday to troubleshoot and correct the problem (again not his issue but the manufacturer's) This, I think, demonstrates his commitment to satisfying his customers. I really can't recommend him highly enough.

An outstanding experience. He truly cares about his work, integrity...performing the needed work to a high standard. Every phase of the experience was about being transparent in project materials purchases and design. Great communications...daily, letting us know what the plans were for the day, during the day if problems were encountered or decisions were required and the end of the day walk-through making sure we were all on the same page. If the says he is going to be at the home at a certain time or do something, then you can count on that happening. He had some great recommendations and in our case had some excellent subs to work on the project. Trustworthy...We had a high level of trust...a couple of times we had to briefly leave the house while they were working. The project turned out great. We would definitely call on him again....
