Collins Appliance Repair

My previous review was submitted before I finished it. I trusted this business because I was referred by Home Advisor. The owner of this business referred me to Omar, someone who works for him. Omar did remove the feathers which was the issue I was having a problem with. However, he didn't put the dryer back correctly. When I was doing my first load after the repair, the dryer was making a noise that got louder and the drum sounded like it was off balance and banging. There were about six bolts that I found still out of the dryer. I called Omar and he said he would come later that day. I didnt hear back from him. I kept trying to contact him and after a couple of days he told me he would call when he got back in town. I didnt hear from him for a week so I called and texted. After many many days of attempting to reach him he finally answered and made an appointment to come out. He did not make this appointment or answer my calls or texts. I have attempted to contact him many many times over the past 6 weeks. This whole time I have been going to the laundrymat. I had called the number on Home Advisor for Collins but the first time the owner did not say Omar worked for him so I was confused how Omar got my number. I called Collins repair again and then the owner said Omar was his only technician. Even though on my receipt it says there is a 6 month labor warranty the owner said he would not honor it. He said it was my fault. I had explained the situation on the phone before anyone came out and I paid $160 so I don't understand why after the fact I am being told that the labor warranty does not apply. I told the owner that I would write a review about my experience and then he told me he would send Omar out to fix the dryer. However that was a week ago and neither of them has answered my calls. I called Omar from my home line so he would answer and he made an appointment with me but he did not come out. I have given these guys many chances.

Thoroughly professional & very friendly.

The repair technicians sent out were not professional or organized. They made repairs without discussing the issue, charged a significant amount for the service and the washing machine still did not work prperly. When I attempted to schedule a return visit the team was confused about the correct day they were going to return. Tenant waited all day and in the end they never showed or bothered to call to explain or apologize for the "No show". Not happy with service.

Was a contractor working under Collins repair name, the tech Malcolm was great new the problem went straight to work knew what he was doing and was quick, reason for the low rating was the sales guy that came with tech, quoted one price then came back with an even higher amount, ordered wrong part twice and issue is still not 100%fixed, the sales guy also took with him the broken part to the refrigerator, sales guy also requested we pay in cash so his guy(Malcolm) could be paid because checks take so long to clear. 1/2 of the job is completed other half (installing correct part has been delayed over week and a half) the refrigerator is cooling so major issue taken care of,however there has been no update as to when the part will be in and job completed.

Excellent customer service, efficient problem diagnosis and repair of my GE dishwasher and Maytag laundry washer. Just be sure to call them to confirm appointment verbally even if scheduling on-line. Appointment confirmation between Home Advisor and the company were out of sync. But they still got me on their schedule and showed up at the requested times.

Felt a little uncomfortable paying for the entire repair in advance based on past appliance experience, but they repaired everything as they said they would. showed up when they promised and came back as promised at the time with the part. All good otherwise.

I highly recommend Collins Appliance. The staff was professional, arrived as promised after regular hours, immediately diagnosed the problem with my refrigerator and repaired it. I am so grateful for their help. Their efforts saved my Thanksgiving. Thank you so much.

I really want others to learn from my experience. Our washer broke, and we found these guys on HomeAdvisor. They let us know they would come out the next day and fix it. Two days later, 3 hours after saying they would be at the house, they replaced some parts, said they needed to get another part (and would be back in another day, between 11-1), they received payment, and then I NEVER SAW THEM AGAIN. They dodged calls, lied, and never came back to complete the work. I consider myself a good person and I work hard. In the least they took advantage of us, and in the most, THEY STOLE OUR MONEY. I am so disappointed.
