Write a ReviewI went through Home Advisor for AC installation. One other company could not come for a week to assess the old AC. Nick called at 4 PM yesterday (Friday) and came to the house at 5 PM. He assessed the unit and said he could replace it with the same size Ruud compressor. They came about noon Saturday and installed the new compressor within 2 hours. They were very fair on their price.
From the moment we called for an estimate to replace our central air/heating unit we fell comfortable with Nicholas and James. They were prompt to give us the estimate and quick to get the new unit. They arrived on time, were courteous and very professional. The price was more than than fair for all the job done. Nicholas was knowledgeable about the unit and how it worked; Little and big things that you don't realize you need to know before they leave the job. We would recommend this company to anyone who needs Colossus HAVC's services. We are 100% satisfied. Good and professional people!
Great experience they are very friendly and trueful about what you need and don't need and very fair and reasonable with prices
They came right away to provide an estimate for a new central air conditioner in the middle of a heat wave, quoted us a fair price and installed the new system the first business day after we accepted their proposal. We are very happy with their work.
This company came to the rescue, literally. Friday night quote, temp in my home was 86. Saturday noon came to install system, temp when they finished in the home was 92. They were caring, professional, and left after being sure system was working. In spite of the extreme temp inside and outside everything was neat and clean. Terrific job and great service. I would recommend their service, price and overall work.
I would not recommend this company. They caused major damage to my home due to an improper installation. The repairs were not completed for nearly eight weeks and only when I threatened to take them to court. It took five trips to my home to stop the unit from leaking in my attic and through my ceilings in two rooms. He does not know what he is doing.
.
I hired this company to install a new heating system and to move my existing central A/C Coil on 2 different homes. Nicholas had to run the duct work inside my finished home. He butchered several walls and I had to hire a contractor to come in and repair all the finished walls. He also broke my window shade and scratched the front of my dryer. After installation, there was a whistling noise coming from the furnace. We complained and he ordered a new part but never came back to replace it. On the second home, after the installation I tried the Central A/C and it ran but I was not able to see if it cooled as it was January. Before my summer tenants moved in I again tried the A/C and it ran but did not cool. I called Nicholas and told him we had no Central A/C and I had tenants moving in the next day. He told us on the phone it was nothing he did. He reluctantly came that evening at 7PM to look at it. He put his gauges on the outside unit and told us there was no Freon in the line. We asked him to find the leak and repair it but he said it was too expensive. Ours was an R22 system and Freon was $400 a cylinder. He would sell us a new R410A system for $5,900 or if we did both houses he would only charge us $5,500. We told him no thanks as the system ran perfectly fine before he touched it and the other home was also running just fine. He left without repairing the system even though I told him I had summer tenants moving in the next day. I hired another A/C tech to do the repair. He tested the A/C lines with Nitrogen, found the leak in the A-Coil, braised the line and refilled the system with reclaimed R22 Freon at a cost of $588. Do not hire these guys. They do not know what they are doing. They do not service what they install. Beware! To top it off, they tried to block my review by telling Home Advisor that they didn;t touch my Central A/C unit. I had to send in my contract to Home Advisor before they would post this review. Home Advisor suggested we take them to Arbitration so we did. The arbitrator's decision was in our favor. She found that they had damaged our Central A/C even though they submitted the wrong contract, lied about who did the work and claimed they never touched the Central A/C. She ordered them to pay us and Home Advisor had to suspend their account until payment was made.
Very responsive. Took great care when doing the work and cleaned up after.
Nicholas was great. Arrived within 45 minutes after I booked the appointment. It was snowing outside and he was very considerate (put on shoe covers even before I requested). He was able to diagnose the issue. Since no repairs were needed, I only had to pay the diagnostic fee, which was very reasonable. Didn’t try to pressure us into paying for a job that wasn’t necessary. A very pleasant, patient guy who will answer your questions honestly. Highly recommended!
