Hired Tom to install a mini-split system at a seasonal lake cottage. The first unit did not work, which was not his fault. I ordered a new unit thru lowes and he came out to install it without me being there. During the first attempt, he disconnected an outdoor light and outlet. When he completed the second one, he texted (I live 6 hours away) and said he was done and the light and outlet were fixed. He demanded payment even though I said I preferred to inspect the work, which would have been two days later. He said he had expenses and had to have the money. Stupidly, I took his word that he did what I asked him to. I arrived to find that he did not fix the light and did an amateur job of installing the unit. Wires exposed and then discovered he had thrown away parts from the unit that I was hoping to return, as well as stole the copper line that should have been returned as well. This guy is a liar, a jerk, and a thief. Stay far away

Can I give negative stars? Called 1/22 Saturday late. On phone, said pipes were probably frozen. Came out without anything to unthaw pipes. Originally said pipes were frozen and probably air locked. Did not unthaw them. Then said pump to boiler was burnt out. Came out on Monday to replace pump but still nothing to unthaw pipes. Replaced pump, charged me $510 and told me to put electric heater next to pipes because he lived 1 hour away and did not want to drive back to get his Salamander heater. Next morning, big radiator burst in house due to coldness. He tried to blame me saying that I must have used a pipe wrench to loosen it or knocked something into it (side that blew out is in a corner with china cabinet next to it). I gave him measurement of radiator. He came without a new radiator so had to go get parts (going to get parts means I will not be returning that day BTW). Next day he came out with a helper to remove old radiator. New one has never been hooked up. Next day another radiator blew. He said he had bought 2 just in case but had used the 2nd one in his house that morning and had to leave to go get parts. Many times I found my back door wide open after he left and wooden door to crawl space is missing now. He tacked up a plastic tote lid to fix it. The night after I saw that the crawl space had been left wide open, he came and said the copper pipes under my house were all burst due to the cold (none of them had ever froze, I had crawl space spray insulated). Basically he removed all of my copper pipes, cobbed together a few Pex pieces that are not even attached to anything and left a huge mess. I have not had heat since 1/22 and no water for the past 7 days. He disconnected my water for the copper pipes. He would show up for a few hours, unprepared and during the night (probably so I would not see what he was doing). Today he texted me that he is going to put a lien on my house for nonpayment. He had never even given me a bill or receipt!. Fraudulent and incompetent! RUN from this one!

Warning! This guy is not a professional and is not reliable. He was asked to conduct a 12 point check on our forced warm air furnace. He recommended we should replace our trsnsformer. He installed a replacement and burned it up! It also blew the fuse on our control board and fried the control board! He beleived the transformer was bad. (?) Installed a second transformer but was not able to get the system running as it was toast! He indicated that this was his responsiblity and he would replace the control board as it was functioning properly until he worked on it. We never heard from him again. (He claimed he tried contacting us but this was simply not true) We went a week without heat! His work resulted in a very expensive repair bill. Isaac Heating Air Conditioning diagnosed the problem. It was another bad transformer and a burned out control board. ($1,479.82 repair bill!) This 12 pont check cost us alot of money and we want to make sure this does not happen to the next person that contacts him. He also claimed he could replace our furnace for $1,800! Our furnace was working before he touched it. Lessons learned: (1) He does not understand furnace repair (2) He either has terrible luck or he is using used / restored replacement parts (3) He does not communicate (4) He is not a man of his word! We have sent documentation supporting this terrible experience and are requesting reimbursement. I tried to discuss this with Tom by phone and he hung up on me! This says it all about his lack of professionalism.

Accepted the request, told me an approximate time of arrival. Answered text for ETA when he ran a little late due to previous work. Did what was needed, plus offered ideas to help me “save” everything should my basement gets water again. So, yes he’s coming back to add the recommendations. Super nice, great work! I highly recommend this company!

Took parts off our furnace on Oct 7 to order and never came back to our house after about 10 or 12 contacts and getting excuses and the run around called last time on oct22 and asked for our furnace parts be returned so we could find someone else to fix the furnace and no response and today is oct28 and nothing from this company.Have been in contact with Nys attorney general office on this matter

Company is not professional, they are not reliable at all. sold me a used unit with no warranty instead of new one which we contracted for. Electrical work is shoddy and does not meet code. I have to hire someone else to take out what garbage was done and put in new to meet manufacturers minimal standards do not hire this man Run!!

Tom & Dennis are great hard working guys. They were willing to do anything we asked, and also make sure it was done to perfection.

On time never in a hurry to leave even though he had a late appointment. Tom was very knowledgeable and helpful. Along with being friendly and explained everything to me and my son. Would recommend Tom Gallagher to work for me anytime!!! Highly recommend his work and attitude!!

Very thorough when checking AC unit. Explained what was wrong and what was needed for repair.
