Sunroom or Patio Enclosure Building Service
$16,000
Do not use them. They did a horrible job. They came and put a sunroom on the back of my home. Weeks later it was leaking 4 years later. It's still leaking. I would not use them at all. I will soon be getting a lawyer because this is ridiculous. They dodged my phone calls and they don't answer any or return any of my calls. I also noticed for most their rare reviews that the brown and black people have the most complaints, hmmmmmmn interesting

On July 27th I gave them a check for 3610.00. And they were to begin on 8/16 to relace some siding on the back of my house. No one showed up. They said they would call me back and no one called. Now I have to hire an attorney to get my money back. DO NOT hire this company. They are dishonest and will steal you blind.

They were horrible. The awning leaks the ba, boo shade was put up completely wrong. The owner Tim was a great salesman but a terrible service provider. Absolutely no response from him when the project had terrible problems.
Response from Community Builders Texas, LLC
"We had installed the bamboo shade you had bought out of courtesy. However, we came back out and removed it at your request. We have been to your property 4 separate times to make adjustments without questioning any of your requests. Our offices has been incontact with you throughout and after the project was finished. Tim has been very aware of all your issues. Just because you have not spoken to Tim directly does not mean he was no involved. Best of luck."

Wood or Fiber Cement Siding Repair or Partial Replacement
Tim..does not listen. I told him several times what I was unhappy with regarding repairs. From the time I signed the contract, it took 5 weeks and several phone calls and emails before I was contacted, by a Sub-contractor. The subcontractor cut off too much off my deck was only supposed to be 2 inches. He took off over 5 inches on one side and narrowed it down to 2 inches on another side. Was not supposed to cut any of the deck boards and cut holes in two boards. They were supposed to remove and replace approx 12inches on the siding to remove rotted wood along the front of the house. Around the front door, they did not remove and replace only covered up with the trim board. A Trim board was needed to try to cover up what the subcontractor screwed up. Supposed to be a 1-day job..but start to quit for 4 weeks. Still not happy about the job but tired of dealing with them. They are not dependable, do not show up when supposed to, and are not even considerate enough to call and explain why. Poor workmanship, sloppy painting. They advertise..any size job welcome but was told by Tim several times, that my small job in his mind was not something they normally do. Constantly told me they treat each job like their own home. I do not believe if he was paying good money he would be happy with the finished product either.

Sunroom or Patio Enclosure Building Service
Customer service needs fixing. Phone calls and messages are either thrown in the trash or ignored. They were good until two days before Christmas when the workers packed up and left without a word. Since then, no update to the completion of the patio. Rock work is falling apart. The main beam is coming apart. They poured cement over my water sprinkler shut off valve and wont say if its usable or not.

We were impressed and thankful that the crew, ALL OF THEM, were easy to get along with and always answered any questions we had. The work area was spotless when they left, inside and outside. Very pleasant experience! :)

Community Builders did a fantastic job on my new deck. Tim Gaffney came out personally to discuss what I wanted done and gave recommendations. Steven Kibb and Joseph Broyles were the gentlemen who actually built the deck and I want to tell you that they were very professional, kept me informed of their progress and cleaned up when they were completed. I actually had a make shift devk for my grandkids pool that they took away for me as well. I highly recommend this company.

Highly recommend them. Honest, thorough and efficient work. We had a small sun room added to the house. It was done quickly and as promised. We are thrilled with the results. Can't say enough about the quality and value of the job. The crew was great with their attention to detail. Quality work !!

C RATED 01/02/2020 The dealer/owner is extremely pushy and aggressive in closing the sale. His workers' showed up at my door without prior notice advising they are ready to start the work. I should have taken this as a clue. I had to tell them to leave because I had not reviewed any documents etc. I found out that the dealer had not gotten the permit prior to starting the work. This is in spite of the dealer/owner telling me he had. (Another red flag). The dealer kept pushing me to sign papers so he could get paid even though he had not completed the work. I asked him not to paint the deck until after the issues regarding the permit and inspection had been completed. He painted the deck anyway. Then persisted in pressuring me to sign so he could get paid. When he finally said he completed the work, there were wood knots in several boards. He offered to patch it up with paint and I told him no. He became agitated and had the audacity to tell me that he is calling the police on me for theft of service. He was trying to intimidate me into signing papers so he could get paid. The gall of this man advising me that he would call the police in my home and premises. I offered to call the police and he then backed off. I had to call my male friend in order for him to do his job properly. He backed down when a male advised him that his work was lack luster--wood knots. board with splinters sticking out. I was not thinking as I would have ordered him out of my house for trespassing. When does a person think they have the right to threaten you in your own home. I am certain that I was overcharged for this deck $10,000 for a 17 x 17 feet deck. This was a horrible experience and I will never work with this contractor again.

DO NOT HIRE THEM!!!! We had a roof added to our back patio starting in May 2019. They seemed great at first. However, we only saw the foreman once and that should have given us an idea of what was to come. The salesman/owner promised us the work would be completed in 2 weeks which I expected would not happen and was not expecting it to be true. Also, he said they would not touch the inside of our house, they would make sure job was completed before leaving us, their carpenters were pros, they would clean up every day, would not hurt our grass and when they opened our roof to attach the new roof it would NOT be open for more than ONE day. Well, first they sawed through the walls inside the house in 2 spots which are still not fixed correctly, they opened the roof on a Friday and did not return until Monday. Sunday night a rainstorm hit and I woke up at 2 am to water PORING in through a ceiling vent in the kitchen, POURING out of our gas fireplace; and the spare bedroom wall and carpet were drenched. I texted the owner asking for help but heard NOTHING back from him. We used a shop vac, towels and buckets for 4 hours attempting to soak up the mess. The workers arrived the usual time Monday morning and said they would fix it.*. The owner came a couple days later. We were supposed to leave on vacation that next week which we were going to cancel but the owner said *do not cancel your trip. We will take care of everything.* We left on Friday morning and had a friend watching the house. She said they were there on Friday and NEVER RETURNED for the 2 weeks we were gone. In conclusion, they replaced patches of drywall inside, replaced carpet padding and used a dehumidifier only after we argued for it; and supposedly fixed the roof. NOT! The drywall tape and float job are horrible, the one coat of paint does not match the original paint color and they got the ceiling texture spray all over our windows and walls. Additionally, the subcontractors were NOT supervised and they left beer cans and trash all over. Also, they left a board on our grass that killed it. I took pictures of everything and told the owner. He said he would come and look. He NEVER came. Now, some roof shingles fell off, some are lifting and on November 2, 2019 water POURED through the fireplace AGAIN. I called them AGAIN and they sent a carpenter the next day who seemed knowledgeable and caring. However, he said he did not do roofs*. He also said we were a priority. Today is November 25, 2019...and last week we hired (and paid) someone else to fix this mess because no one called or came out from this company. Our new contractor already had to replace half of the shingles and flashing they put on. Furthermore, before we left on vacation the owner asked us to sign off on the job so they could get paid. I said NO but he said we could trust him and my husband trusted him. Now, my husband is very angry and remorseful. Plus, we had to pay out $2500 more last week to our new contractor to fix this companys mess. If they were good people they would understand we have been very patient and more than willing to allow them to fix their mistakes. Plus, they would reimburse us the $2500 for the new contractor. Then, I would be happy. However, I do not believe they will. I am sure the next time we will be seeing them is in court. If you use this company and get this foreman who did not do his job....buyer beware!!

Hire at your own risk!!! Poor quality control and very rude foreman. I put $3k toward project and foreman called us a thief because we would not sign off on a project not completed. Tim tried to convince us to use warranty to address what we not completed. He then sent in his foreman to our house who ended up being combative and calling us thieves because we would not sign off for finance company. Not enough room here to lay out how our project went from 3 days to 3 months. I had to repeatedly ask the foreman to leave my property.

I should have known better. I trusted Home Advisor who highly recommended this company. I did not do my homework as a consumer. I should have asked for additional choices. After the contract was signed and a deposit of $5,000, it took at least 3 weeks to even get a return phone call (had to do with a family member coming for a visit). I cannot believe that there is only one person in the company that can provide me with plans/ detailed descriptions of my project as required by HOA. The subcontracted deck builders were fine but follow up calls or visit is beside the point, meaning warranty work does not exist. I do not recommend this company. Very dissatisfied customer here.
Response from Community Builders Texas, LLC
"Thank you for your review, we appreciate you taking the time to give us your honest opinion. We pride ourselves on being a small family run company. We are not a large box store company that has multiple personnel in each department. Instead we have several in-office employees who excel at their job, allowing us to maintain a friendly repertoire with our customers and a customer driven environment. We were in contact with you multiple times throughout your project. We also aided you with your HOA requirements, when that was not part of our contracted agreement. In reference to your comment about the lack of communication we emailed you 2 days after your signed your contract on 6/22/2019. We spoke with you via phone 07/3/2019 in regards to an update on timeline for your project. We informed you we were several weeks out from beginning your project. On 07/16/2019 we emailed you the drawings for your HOA that you are responsible for. On 07/23/2019 we met with you to discuss materials. That same week we began building your deck. We went above and beyond our agreement to ensure your satisfaction. At the end of the project you informed our crew, and the owner that you were happy with the product and completely satisfied. We will address your after project work order at our earliest availability. We appreciate the opportunity to work with you."

We had to call and talk to the secretary about the work that was so poorly done. We were told 7 days top to finish project and we are into the third week still waiting on supplies to finish the work. Frustrated and stressed out to the max with the poor workmanship and no communication unless we call do we get any information from Community Builders. We have had many calls in and promised the sun and the mon but have seen none of it.

"Thank you for your review, we appreciate you taking the time to give us your honest opinion. Sometimes projects can run longer than anticipated due to many unforeseen circumstances. These include but are not limited to: weather complications, employee emergencies, and homeowner interference. We believe that we handled your project to the best of our ability. We went the extra mile to ensure your satisfaction at the end of the project, including work that your were not contracted for, nor paid for. As a company Community Builders prides itself on our customer satisfaction. We apologize that you could not be satisfied even when we went above and beyond. We appreciate the opportunity to work for you."

I hired them to paint my home. Too much money for what they offered in person and on contract. Had to tell them too many times the same thing they needed to do.
Response from Community Builders Texas, LLC
"Thank you for your review, we appreciate you taking the time to give us your honest opinion. We always review our contracts with homeowners prior to signing, this includes the work and price, to ensure that the homeowner is comfortable with all aspects of the upcoming project. The completion of this project occurred after the posting of this review. We are continuing to work with the homeowner to ensure their satisfaction with our work, and we feel that we have gone above and beyond our contractual duties for the customers happiness."
