"This review by Scott S. in Fayetteville, NY is very puzzling to me as a business owner. Conditioned Air Company came out on a Sunday morning to service a pool heater without charging overtime in order to help Scott S. I was told on the telephone the customer suspected a mouse might have entered the pool heater & caused the pool heater to stop working because this has happened before. Knowing this pool heater has a circuit board with a fuse in it, I was hoping the mouse may have caused a short blowing the fuse, so a simple fuse replacement would have resolved the problem. However, upon arrival it was determined there was no mouse in the pool heater. The pool heater displayed signs of accelerated wear with rust & corrosion on gas burners, circuit board, heat exchanger, flame sensor, hot surface igniter, gas piping & gas valve. After it was determined the gas valve mechanically seized closed & would not open with the proper voltage applied to it I asked Scott S. to accompany me at the pool heater. I explained to Scott S. the exact sequence of operation & showing him everything was working correctly in the sequence of operation to open the gas valve except the gas valve was mechanically seized & would not open. There were no pool heater supply houses open on a Sunday to purchase a replacement gas valve. However, in Scott's review he complained after diagnosis was completed "the pool heater still did not work." How can Conditioned Air Company replace a gas valve on a Sunday when all the supply houses are closed? Due to the accelerated rust & corrosion on all the components Conditioned Air Company thought it was in the customer's best interest to install a new pool heater especially because Scott S. already replaced the circuit board for a ridiculous amount of money. There was no doubt in my mind future parts would need to be replaced because of the accelerated rust & corrosion. Scott S. & his wife both agreed. After the service call was completed & payment was received, I went back to my shop & researched the pool heater & found the pool heater service & installation manual online & downloaded it to my phone. I also researched prices on pool heaters & found a company that would sell Scott S. the same pool heater for $1500 before tax & shipping. I downloaded the company website & pool heater model on my phone. I sent both the service & installation manual & pool heater replacement details by text to Scott's cell phone. Scott's responding text on my cell phone which I still have reads this, "Thank you. We were very Happy with your service and understanding of our heater. Again, it is a breath of fresh air when someone like you comes to help us out.""

"This is a case of a customer having a very bad day, lying and taking it out on me. Anyone who has ever done business with Conditioned Air Co. will tell you that we are a very honest, family run company. The Better Business Bureau rates us A+. My customer service skills are excellent and well documented throughout these ratings. All the prices we quoted were approved prior to any work done during the initial service call. After the initial visit repair parts were required & the customer approved the purchase of those repair parts required to complete the repair. I called the customer to come back & fix a water leak & he said come over. When I was 5 minutes from his house he called & said come back next week. Conditioned Air Company did nothing wrong here, we are sorry this customer had a bad day and felt compelled to take it out on us."

"This boiler was not well maintained at all during its life cycle and displayed accelerated wear. Parts were not readily available for a boiler this old. Due to the age of the boiler and its accelerated wear it was more cost effective for the homeowner to replace the boiler than to repair it. The customer agreed and thanked me for being honest. The customer asked us to troubleshoot and clean his gas fireplace, and we did that. The customer was instructed how to light the pilot and adjust the flame and airflow. Customer thanked us for coming out because he could not get any other contractors to respond."

"This was a no heat service call. The furnace is 14 years old and there were a few parts that needed to be replaced just to get the furnace to turn on. This required a couple of trips to the supply house to purchase those parts. After replacing those parts and monitoring the furnace during its run cycle it was determined the duct work was too small for the furnace. The duct work should have been modified when the furnace was replaced 14 years ago, but never was. This very unusual problem created longer than normal labor because the furnace was over heating and tripping on a safety control. This problem has been going on since the furnace was installed and other contractors have been there before but none of them recognized the undersized duct work. This was also evidenced by much higher than normal National Grid gas bills. The fan motor speed had to be increased to keep the furnace from overheating. These issues were all properly explained to the customer, and he understood and thanked me for properly diagnosing the furnace and resolving a problem that had previously existed for 14 years. The furnace is now running better than ever before."
