A good contractor should have integrity, honesty, professionalism, the willingness to listen to the customer, and to take pride in their work. The owner/employees of Connecticut Gutters have none of these traits, and had a blatant disregard for the final outcome of the job. I was looking to have copper gutters installed on my home. I spent a lot of time researching everything that their was to know about copper gutters. I ordered the material myself, with the help of my general contractor... I even printed out pictures of the house in order to show them the locations of the downspouts. I literally did everything for them... all they had to do, was install them. I told them countless times, NOT to use aluminum parts, because you cannot combine the metals. They managed to install some sections of gutter, but the outlets were in the wrong locations, and they refused to use the copper rivets that I provided. I found out that they were using their cheap aluminum screws to hang the gutters, when I provided high end stainless steel screws. The corners were so poorly cut, that the contractor has no idea how the strip miters would have even been attached with any real strength. I now have to remove most of the sections that were installed. Everything I asked of them, went in one ear, and out the other. I even begged them to wear gloves to prevent finger prints and dirt from staining the copper, to avoid the discoloring when the copper ages. All they cared about was getting in as fast as possible, and getting paid as fast as possible. Red flags were raised, when the owner, Denis Murtic, continuously kept informing me that his guys told him, that I told them, that I would give them an additional tip, as well as letting them keep whatever was leftover (to sell or for scraps). I never said such a thing, in fact, I specifically told him that all scraps and all leftovers were to be kept on the premises. Over time, the copper will deteriorate the aluminum, and it will fail. Their response, "yeah yeah, don't worry, we'll take care of it". I found out that inferior tiny aluminum screws were used to hold my custom made outlets, as well as aluminum screws for the sections of gutter. I tried to understand why they would use their cheap products and why they would cut corners in every part of the job. I came to the conclusion, that when the relationship went south, and my material was "left in my house", I realized that I was missing material, mainly my stainless screws, copper rivets, and a good ninety feet from what was left of my original copper coil. He lied of course, saying that there was only eight feet left. Let me ask all of you a simple math question... if the coil was 260 feet long, and after measuring what was actually used and hung on the house, totaled close to 170 feet, how could I have been left with, in his mind, barely 8 feet? I have no doubt in my mind, that from the moment they saw the material, I was lied to my face repeatedly, and had the materia
