The sales and the install team were excellent. The install team protected the carpet and floors and cleaned up the work area when completed. They showed me pictures of the work done in the attic since I was unable to get up there to see the new furnace. Again, very professional and a great price too.

I have been a loyal customer of Constellation Energy for the past 6 years. When I signed up, they offered a plan that included Air Conditioner Protection Coverage for 2 units at no extra charge. This gave me peace of mind knowing I was covered. The confirmation email stated, Equipment Covered: $0 Coverage for 2 Air Conditioners, Heaters, and Water Heaters + Electric Line Protection, an Annual A/C Tune-up, and HVAC Monitoring. I trusted Constellation as a reputable company and did not search for other warranty options for my A/C units. However, on June 13, 2023, one of my units stopped blowing cold air. I called them and they sent a technician who found a faulty capacitor and replaced it. Unfortunately, the next day, the cold air still was not coming out of the vents. I contacted them again, and they informed me that there was a leakage in the system and the coil needed to be replaced. They said I had to pay for it because my system did not have the manufacturers warranty, despite the coverage I had with Constellation. They only fix the system if there is a manufacturer warranty on the system that does not make sense to get a warranty while you have the manufacturer warranty. I argued that I was never notified about this exclusion and asked to see the terms of service. Although I never received the terms directly, they pointed me to a link in the confirmation email. To my surprise, I discovered that the warranty was offered by another company called Constellation Home. This made me realize that this company was taking advantage of people. Since it was the hottest time of the summer, I reluctantly agreed to pay for the service. They quoted me $3200 to replace the coil, but through my research, I found that a Carrier authorized service team could do the fix for about $2200. I even managed to find a better price at around $1700. After numerous discussions with Constellation Energy and Constellation Home, they first agreed to do the repair for $3000, and then lowered it to $2000. However, I still felt betrayed and disagreed with their solution. The service should have been free as promised, and their offer was not fair. I gave them one last chance to match the lowest quote I had, but they refused. So I decided to go with the other service team. I am sharing this note to warn people who may have fallen for their misleading and unfair marketing strategy, where they use warranty offers to retain customers while charging higher electricity prices. I strongly advise staying away from this company and making sure to find proper warranty options for A/C protection. Avoid this company at all costs. They take advantage of you when you are most vulnerable and overcharge you for repairs. Their intention is not to enhance your electricity service but rather to cheat and rip you off. I gave them multiple opportunities to make things right before posting this, but they do not seem to care about their loyal customers.

I chose Constellation as the cheapest bid for my new a/c purchase. They are not only horrible but dishonest. They made numerous installation errors, which they promised to fix, but no-showed every time and then quit returning my calls. They also left a huge hole where the wiring entered my house through the exterior bricks, and I have now learned that rats have been entering my attic through the hole, and it is going to cost me tons of money to address this problem. DO NOT do business with these incompetent and dishonest people!! I would give zero stars if I could!*********UPDATE They reached out to me and we worked out a resolution
Response from Company:
Mr L., We would like to investigate your experience. A member of our team will reach out to you shortly. Thank you, Constellation Home Customer Care

This place has terrible customer service and constellation energy is a rip off. I have one of their electric plans that covers if anything goes wrong with my air conditioner and heating system. Its advertised as 100 % covered and that is what constellation energy sold me on when I bought the plan. Well something went wrong with my A/C unit, and I was told that the part was not covered! I called Constellation Energy, who told me to call Constellation Home to get the terms and conditions of the plans. No one can tell me what is covered and not covered. I even talked to a Manager Ray, who said he would email them to me and has not. Meanwhile, I am stuck with a $450 bill and paying a higher electric bill for an A/C protection plan that does not really cover.

They thoroughly explained our options and recommended units with better energy savings and lower price than the competitors. We reduced the score a bit because the salesman promised install the next week but the actual work did not start until more than a week later than promised. Before believing what the salesman says, make sure he verifies availability of crews and equipment before you accept any dates he says. We had to endure horrible heat with no A/C in the weeks waiting for the install.
