We asked Matthew from Global Tech to come by to give us an estimate for some electrical work in our condominium. He agreed and came by yesterday morning(10/26). We discussed the work to be accomplished and he told us he would send an estimate by the end of the day. He then said the immediate amount due for his visit was $300 but that we d be able to deduct that from the total due if we selected him to complete the work. When we protested and voiced that there was no previous notice that his estimate would cost us anything, he acquiesced and said we must at least reimburse him for $87+ in parking. We still protested, citing no previous notification or agreement. He then said that when he called from his vehicle prior to arrival and mentioned that he couldn t find on-street parking and would therefore be a few more minutes because he would need to park in a ramp, that that was his notification that we would have to pay for parking. We highlighted that he made no mention of the fact that we would have to reimburse him for anything. The entire situation became extremely uncomfortable. We gave in and initiated a parking reimbursement payment through Zelle and he left our home, fortunately, there was some glitch and the Zelle payment failed to process. We were careful to engage only Angi-listed contractors who did not indicate in their listing that a fee was required to provide an estimate. We mentioned to him that we view the costs associated with providing estimates including tolls, gas, parking, and time as business development expenses, typically recouped through jobs secured. Given our discomfort with how yesterday s interaction unfolded, any further communication with him will occur solely through Angi. We ve also asked him to direct any further communication with us through the platform. Thank you.

Matthew at the company responded quickly and sent his associate Sunny to do a small job requiring removing a burnt out 2-prong electrical outlet and replacing it with a 3-prong electrical outlet. Sunny arrived promptly as scheduled and completed the job. The outlet was needed to power an air conditioner. Will keep this company in mind for any future electrical work.

Very strange to get asked at the end of a service, ?Okay so what do you want to pay me?? and then get your offer pushed up by $200. Even though the initial phone quote was a fraction of the cost. Also not the company to go with if you care about attention to detail or damage to your property ! :(

Matthew was knowledgeable and courteous. He explained what he was doing. The only glitch was the final price. He was supposed to be giving an estimate prior to my acceptance of his services. However, finding the problem was tedious and he went ahead and fixed it once found and THEN told me the price. We did have to bargain a bit until we were both satisfied. Other than that, I was happy with his work.
