About us

Corbin Builders & Development has been a trusted builder in the high country for over 30 years. Our motto is "always on the level never out of square". This means we are up front with our clients and our work is professional. We specialize in remodeling and decks and we offer many in-house services including bed and bath additions, kitchens, and siding. We do siding, painting, and roofing, and install our own tile and hardwood floors. As owner operator, I am on the sight making sure everything is done professionally, on time, and in budget. Most of our work is bid by the job which includes materials and labor. We have subcontractors who have worked with us for over 20 years who do our electrical, plumbing, and h-vac work. Our work is efficient and timely, so you get to your new space sooner. If you want it done right but you need it done now, give us a call for a free estimate. Thank You, Carroll Corbin

Also painted exterior and replaced gutters. Gutters are about 1/4 inch too low and top of storm door now hits the gutter are does not fully open. Corbin has said it would be an easy fix and promised to have it fixed. That was last fall. Now I cannot get in touch with him. If you hire him, stay on top of his work and him.

Carpenters are curteous and attentive to details and safety issues. They've pointed out various challenges to existing deck which I have approved for inclusion in the work. We're midway through the project, and I can't wait for the finished product.

I thought the price was too high for the length of time they spent at the job site. No other complaints. They were very promp in getting back to me.

Mr. Corbin and company are some of the greatest employees we have ever been associated with. Hard workers and knowledgeable in most areas of housing. They remodeled our kitchen, living room and bath, installing new cabinetry, granite tops and tiled our bathrooms. I give them the highest rating possible. Pricing is fair and workmanship is outstanding. I trust them and gave them the key to our home and they left our house cleaner than when they started. Corbin is truly a 5 star company!

I had a large shed that I needed roofing, siding, and windows installed. After finally getting him to acknowledge my email, he said that he'd get me an estimate right away. Two weeks later, he still had not come to the house. After finally getting the estimate (a month later), it took another two weeks before he finally showed up to do the work. He didn't finish the job and has NEVER come back to finish it. He left construction debri all over the yard. I called about a month ago to see when he'd finish and he told me he'd get right on it. I've never seen him since. He promises that he will complete the work and take care of punch list items but never follows through. This guy is NOT dependable nor reliable. I will NOT use this guy again.

"This nice man was supposed to supply materials. He came up short and told me to go and get the materials. Never was this my responsibility. Read into this what you want but we are professional and courteous to everyone."

I had hoped to write a more positive review based on ultimate completion of a renovation project. Unfortunately, it does not seem this project will ever be completed by Corbin Construction. If it is, I'll happily come back and edit this review to reflect that. I was hoping to write that the project went a bit longer and cost more, but the work is fantastic and I love my renovations! But at some point you lose faith because of too many failed promises and no communication. And from what I've been told, I am different from others who seem to know better, and I have to accept responsibility for paying someone for the work they've done when they ask, instead of playing the game where I refuse until the project is finished. Here are the facts of my renovation project and I leave it up to individuals to evaluate Corbin's work. The scope of work included a renovation of an 871 sq.ft 2/2 house built in 1978. Corbin was responsible for removal of existing cabinets, flooring, and fixtures, renovation of the bathrooms, including tile work and installation of new fixtures, installing new lighting throughout house, installing electrical and plumbing for new kitchen cabinets, and building out some walls. The original estimate was $14k+ materials and supplies to be paid by me and was originally estimated to take 4-5 weeks. Demolition began July 7, 2014. By July 19, Corbin had determined new plumbing and electrical would be needed throughout the house and he had not accounted for this in his original estimate. The project would take 2-3 weeks longer and plumbing and electrical would be about $5,000-6,000 more. By July 25, I had paid Corbin $16,290.24, plus an additional $7,000 in materials and supplies I had purchased directly to be delivered onsite. On August 8, I traveled 8 hrs and found plumbing roughed in and electrical wiring installed, for which the work passed inspection. Corbin convinced me that he needed to level the flooring and could do it in time for cabinets and flooring to be installed. According to others, the flooring remains very unlevel and one of the pictures reflects his attempt by removing cement footer of a structural support beam. In a moment of exhaustion, I paid an additional $13,542.90 for additional work needed without checking the invoice. I have asked for clarification of charges and have not received a response. No fixtures were installed, waiting on flooring. The dishwasher was the only appliance that was new and I wanted to save and it was left on the front deck in the weather. On August 10, flooring was scheduled for August 19. August 15, electrical fixtures were installed. August 19, kitchen cabinets installed (not Corbin's responsibility), delayed flooring by one week. On August 28, I arrived to see the flooring, paint the walls, and deliver two vanity tables that Corbin was not able to build. The pictures reflect what I saw. Flooring had been delayed because of the condition left by Corbin. I spent two days a

Carroll Corbin was my direct contact with his company. He went to the house within the hour and I had my estimate. When I didn't hear from either of the other two companies from which I requested a quote, and Carroll's bid was within dollars of my own estimate, I gave him the go ahead. He had the new roof installed in less than two weeks from our initial contact. Now that's the way to do business. The work crew left my home and grounds clean and intact. I heard from the other contractor about 10 days after work was completed. His proposal for same job, same materials was 50% higher.

All the work was completed on an excellent and timely fashion. Several times Mr. Corbin made suggestions that greatly improved the overall project and even went above and beyond to fix issues that he came across at no additional charge. Our family would highly recommend Corbin Builders for quality and value as well as integrity of conduct . Thank you Mservicemagic for making the connection!

Just a word to say thanks for a good job. It appears as though the leak is fixed and at a reasonable price and a professional manner.. Thanks for the return of the overpayment. Its seldom these days that you will find anyone with the honesty and consideration you have demonstrated.. You can be assured that if I have any more work to be done I will contact you.

Experience was poor from the beginning, house was not properly prepared. We have paint all over our newly painted baseboards which we have begun to clean up. Paint and overspray is every where and way to much to clean. We have contacted Carroll Corbin by way of email about a week and half ago, and we were basically told the he would let us know when he would be back on the mountain. This is totally unacceptable it should not be at his convenience. Where is the guarantee of work! I have no choice but to pursue this further which I intend to do. We feel that we were totally taken advantage of. He was overpaid for the work he performed.

"We were very professional using tarps on everyting even the gravel walks, and hand brushed all our work. The house had been painted several times before, red, green, and yellow. The man of the house was very nice, he told us good job and gave us cigars so we left in good spirits. We are 5 star for most and one star for few."

As we have had many contractors in the past we feel that we can provide true feedback on Corbin Builders. They indeed deserve five plus stars in all categories! Mr. Corbin partakes and supervisors all activities and all work that is completed above and beyond any expectations. We have been burned in the past by previous contractores, but Mr. Corbin and crew have displayed that contractor perfection still exists. Hats off to Corbin Builders!!
