We are so impressed with Shawn Corbin and his crew, that we are already discussing with him several more projects we'd like him to undertake.

Mr. Corbin and his crew did a very good job building our composite deck and provided excellent customer service throughout. First off, we have a beautiful new deck that was priced very competitively compared to other contractors we spoke with - and for most that will probably be all you need to know! But I particularly wanted to highlight the work that was done to support the hot tub we will be placing on the deck within the coming month. We asked Corbin Home Improvements to build the deck so that it would be capable of supporting a hot tub, and they delivered above and beyond. Knowing the risk of placing such a heavy object on a deck we hired a structural engineer to evaluate the deck. The engineer commented on the quality of the work done and materials used during his visit, noting how well built the deck was in addition to looking great. But his written report really put me at ease - the deck needed to be able to support 125psf in order for us to place the hot tub we purchased - but the section with additional support was rated at 250psf! Again, very pleased with this experience and we will definitely hire Corbin Home Improvements again for any future home improvement projects.

Bottom line: Mr. Corbin takes absolute pride in his work and continues to have customer satisfaction as his MAIN priority. He is not satisfied unless we are satisfied. Highly recommend. We used Mr. Corbin to remodel our master bathroom. He did such a fantastic job that we asked him to do our deck as well. He had to remove and replace the existing deck and add an additional deck to connect between the old deck and our existing screened in porch. He recommended using PVC decking and rails because it is easy to take care of and is cooler, since our deck faces south and gets so hot in the summer. He had to do a lot of extra work to build the new portion of the deck to meet new building codes and satisfy the local inspector. He dealt with the issues in a very professional manner to ensure the deck met all the requirements. We now have a new deck that is not only beautiful, but will probably stand up against any weather mother nature decides to throw at LaPlata in the future. We are looking forward to hosting the parties and spending a lot of time on our new deck for years to come. Another fantastic job.

Mr. Corbin did a fantastic job in a complete demolition and renovation of our master bath. This was our first experience in a major renovation. Mr. Corbin made it easy, suggested options and worked with us throughout the process to make sure we were happy with the final product. He was always professional, responsive and very particular about the quality of his work and of his sub-contractors. We are extremely pleased with the final product and will be using him to remodel our deck.

After researching a lot of websites, pictures and reading reviews, I chose Corbin Home Improvements over other contractors in Southern Maryland. Mr. Corbin built us our 12 by 25 foot deck with screened in porch, he took care of the building permit, all inspections and completed the work in a professional manner. He showed great detail in the performance of the job and did extra work to make sure it was completed right. He is very knowledgeable, efficient, polite and professional. After sitting down and relaxing on our new screened in porch, my wife and I are extremely happy and comfortable that we had Mr. Corbin built this for us. It looks great. I would definitely recommend them.

Short story: Professional, Timely and Excellent workmanship. I would use Shawn Corbin and his crew again in a heartbeat!!! Long story: I had no idea who to use for a bathroom remodel (I had a bad experience with a different contactor a couple years ago) I took a couple of weeks searching for some contractors to provide me an estimate and I had narrowed my search down to about five different contractors that I had invited to our home to give us an estimate. Shawn listened to what I wanted, took measurements and I provided him with a list of materials I wanted installed. He provided me with a cost estimate within a couple of days. Of the five contractors, Shawn Corbin was the only one that produced licensing paperwork and to be quite honest he just had a very professional way in which he carried himself and discussed issues with me. I did the Demolition and he and his crew installed a Jacuzzi tub (and wiring) vanity w/sink, tiled walls/floor, new toilet, door and painted. Time to complete job was 4 ½ days he estimated 4 days (you have to expect some time for unknown issues to pop up). Cost was exactly what we had negotiated, but I had to ask him to move an outlet because the medicine cabinet we wanted covered up the existing outlet and I had to have that moved after everything else had been finished, small price increase for that work, but again sometimes there are unknowns and the price for labor and materials were fair. All the work performed by Shawn and Eric was very well done and both these guys were always very professional and considerate. Eric even gave me a few pointers on how to install wall tile in case I want to try it (on someone else’s house of course). At the end of every workday tools and materials were cleaned or and put away. I have a two story home and the work was done upstairs and most of the materials were stored upstairs so of course there was some €œclutter€ but when doing a major renovation you can'€™t expect your home to be €œspotless€ the entire time either (be reasonable in your expectations). Only bad thing that happened was one of our three dogs escaped on the 4th day of work (NOT Shawn or Eric'€™s fault) but Eric went all over the neighborhood looking for the dog and they were trying to do the right thing by looking for our dog, but in my opinion it is us as the homeowner and dog owner to ensure our pets are not in the way of contractors performing work and put them in a room or fenced in yard. I came home at lunch and told Eric not to worry about the dog, he was really upset and I think felt responsible for the dog getting out, but again not his fault (someone did find the dog and called us). Final note, remember you get what you pay for. Take your time to do research, get multiple estimates (cheapest isn'€™t always best but don'€™t be a sucker either). You may find more than one contractor that you feel comfortable with so you have to make a choice in the end between two or more contractors, if all

Mr. Corbin is extremely professional, prompt, and great to work with. Our deck turned out great and his price was much lower than the other prices around. He really took care of us and cleaned up after the work. I would definitely hire him again. He is trustworthy and honest.

I chose Corbin Home Improvements over several other contractors in the area and I am extremely happy with the final results. They built our screened in deck and porch with professionalism and took pride in making sure the details were attended to. We would recommend them as the contractor of choice in the Southern Maryland area and we hope to work with them again in the future for any other home projects. Thank you Shawn and crew!!!

Mr. Corbin's work was very professional. The job (a new 8x5 walk-in closet) did take longer than expected, as he was working on jobs for other people at the same time. But overall, I would hire him again. I'm very happy with the finished closet.
